"Superb family-run fish and chip shop and so much more! We descended on the Fish and Chip shop with 10 hungry teenage boys who'd been Kayaking nearby with the Mendip Activity centre. The fish and chips did not disappoint, they were delicious and generous portions. Great breaded mushrooms, mushy peas, curry sauce too! It's great that there is space to sit outside and eat. We'd never been here before and it's just across the road from the beach, which is a perfect position. They also sell a myriad of other things, many of which the boys also tested(! including ice creams, slushies and alcoholic beverages for the grown ups. What stood out here was the friendliness of the owners. We pestered them with various questions and requests and nothing was too much trouble."

"Appalling food, we regularly eat in Hungry Horse pubs and they are always amazing. The meal we had today was abysmal. Clearly reheated chips from lunch, fish was thinner that an after eight and over cooked and generally poor. Server asked how it was, but was already walking away when I told her it was terrible. Didn’t ask if she could rectify it. Ate it as wasn’t exactly plentiful, but wish we hadn’t having as all felt sick since we got home. Probably explains why it was so quiet in there on Friday early evening. Worst hungry horse I’ve ever eaten in"

"It was Mother’s Day and I booked the Afternoon Tea for 4 plus and grandson in high chair. We are local and use Tiffin but the special tea was a first and it did not disappoint. Fresh finger sandwiches, wonderful scones, and plenty of dinky cakes ‘petit four’ type. Had to ask for more clotted cream which was no problem. Better that than have people waste it. We couldn’t eat it all, boxes were provided to take away. Tea pots were replenished too. A very good tea. Service can on occasion be hit and miss, but on that very busy day, it was great. We were served by Holly and another young lady, both very pleasant, plus a very efficient young man."

"Once again, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival at Il Gardino. We sat in the winter garden and ordered drinks while perusing the menu. We were advised on the specials and how they could be prepared for us. Our choices arrived promptly, with beautiful new chairs brought to our table. For starters, we had king prawns, avocado prawns, mozzarella, and scallops - all beautifully presented and served piping hot by attentive but discreet waitstaff. We were given time to enjoy our starters before they were cleared away to make room for our main courses. We chose heavy fish, tuna steak, veal escalope, and spinach ricotta tortellini - all delicious and served with perfectly boiled fresh vegetables and sautéed potatoes. And then came the desserts! Italian bread and butter pudding, meringues, brandy ice cream, lemons and prosecco sorbet - all served in elegant glasses. The brand and medaillenpuden desserts were brought out with lit candles as two of us were celebrating birthdays. Overall, it was a fantastic evening at Il Gardino and the staff truly made it a special meal. It may be a bit pricier, but the quality is well worth it. This family-run restaurant has been carefully renovated and is truly a gem."

"The Bridge Inn Absolutely disgusting. Had grandchildren and thought we would have a nice meal out along with the soft play area. Booked online and asked a question as not been here before. No reply! Arrived and walked in through soft play area where there were lots tables but not one clean one for us to sit on. Not at all clean, smelt and carpet seen better days. All tables had been used by previous customers but could see been sat there for a while and not one member of staff to be seen. Found our way to the restaurant where there were staff and walked past us several times but did not speak. As we had not been before we did not know how the restaurant operated. Did we just find a table? but upon looking they were all reserved. No one at the bar so as not impressed walked out. Obviously will not be returning. Im not usually one to complain or actually that fussy but this in my opinion was well below standards. A review in 2017 by someone else showed exactly the same so not much seemed to have changed. Shame as when my children were young loved our local pub with a soft play."

"Today, I had the best fish and chips ever at this restaurant. I made sure to send compliments to the chefs Ethan and Sean for cooking it to perfection and presenting it well. We will definitely be returning, especially if we know that Sean and Ethan are in the kitchen!"

"We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the improvement in these new premises on South Parade (near Lloyds Bank). My friend had omelette (it was so generous it must have been three eggs), plus chips and peas. I had Cheddar cheese panini (which was so thick with cheese I had to cut into it) plus salad and home-made crisps. The price was very reasonable especially considering the generous portions. We were very happy indeed! The new premises look out onto the Town Square with the fountains. And inside is nicely decorated. The toilets are pristine, which is always a bonus! Staff are friendly and charming! What more could you want???"

"I always had fond memories as a child from visiting. I left as an adult thinking my childhood may have been delusional. The sound of children screaming crying and swearing rung in my ears even once we left. The dirt on our pre-reserved table where...we we squashed between other families who’s children clearly didn’t know how to behave made me wish I had taken my own disinfectant. The food left a lot to desire with frozen rubbery chicken breast and frozen ribs for me and a poorly cooked mixed grill for the other half. The kids meals however were half decent. I wouldn’t recommend and infact would do quite the opposite."

"Will start by saying the whole experience was an absolute disgrace. Booked this family meal 4 weeks ago, on turning up there, miraculously the booking seemed to have disappeared from there book !!! A table was finally found after lots of disagreements the only problem with this was that the tables found were to small for the size of party so all squeezed together. Was then informed that because we hadn’t booked could not have the festive meal only the carvery which we had to settle for the only problem with this was that most of the veg dishes had run out, meat was so dry you needed a gallon of gravy on it just to eat it. Ran out of Yorkshire puddings so when new batch arrived they were still frozen in the middle. Ordered puddings 2 turned up wrong, 1 didn’t turn up at all. At this point with so much trouble from start to end of meal couldn’t pay and get out of this dirty place quick enough. If you’re looking for a good meal then avoid this place. Disappointing to say the least."
"First off our experiences of eating their main meals have in the main been good, however their breakfasts are a different story. For the third and final time today we were served breakfasts that BOTH had different items missing. My wife’s missing her eggs, mine missing bacon and a sausage. The eggs we were served were shrivelled up to the point of cremation and the thimble of baked beans hardly warrant it being called a big breakfast. The drinks station was also as ever lacking fresh milk, with the member of staff I asked about a refill pointing me to another station where again that had a thimbles worth of milk left in it. The server (who was covering from another branch) was cracking, polite and professional and rectified immediately. He stated that the chefs were rude to him when he informed them of the missing items, blaming him for taking it too soon. If that’s the case then who was responsible for the last two times stuff was missing?? The bacon is also borderline anaemic and undercooked to the point of tasting like a rasher of ham. Why this branch can’t cook a decent breakfast I don’t know, especially as the numerous times we have eaten main meals there have always been fine. Having made a special trip there today to get there for brekkie and being served that lukewarm rubbish I can say I won’t be back for another. The reason for the 2 star is because as a branch I like the atmosphere, the toilet facilities and have had some decent main meals in there. Breakfasts I’ll score a 0. Thanks again to the mail server who was covering today (15/2) his humour, courtesy was well received by us and we noted he was equally as polite and friendly to other customers"

"Have been coming here for years with family and seen many changes. Cath is much missed, such a character. It’s not the same, but good enough and the food is always reliably decent. We come less often but I’ve been here a few times with friends recently and want to mention two particularly lovely staffs. Julie and Elliot. They’re so welcoming and polite give great service every time. I have to mention that I saw a table of quite rude people last time we were in. They were giving Elliot a really hard time, unfairly, to the point that we asked them to lay off. Impressed at how calm and Uber polite he stayed, just trying to placate them. Well done Elliott! Then they laid into a senior person ? called Matt as well. I think Sidcot dealt with this situation well. Well done. Thanks."

"Sadly I dont know what went wrong today but our lunch order was a shambles! The coffees were in mugs not cups, once of the sandwiches was on the wrong bread, the wholemeal bread is covered in seeds, seeds dont agree with all people, and also was found to be very dry. Then the baked potato never appeared, when I asked, it eventually came and the others had finished their lunch and I ate alone. It was also not very hot and evident it had been forgotten. When we went to pay the manager said he would deal with the bill, and reduced it by about £12, we said how we felt and he still did not turn round and apologize, but as he put money in the till muttered that good customer service is important !! It certainly is, and if someone had come straight over and apologized and said they would reflect the errors in our bill we would all have felt a lot happier. Wee all felt saddened as the Quarry is a lovely setting and the shops and galleries well worth a visit. ,"

"Mate and me went, was in queue for over 15mins before I left my mate there. During that time they managed to serve one person. Have driven to Clevedon, ordered, paid and collected my food from H&H Burgers... My mate is still in the queue!!!!"

"This is the second time I've been to this branch and it never ceases to disappoint. Grandsons 11th birthday treat. Can't book a table during the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 50% off days. Not a big problem as we arrived in good time. Staff not warm and welcoming. There were 4 of us and we were asked a few times by the same person if we wanted a table for four of us. The food took a long time to arrive. Grandsons ice cream cane. The tea and coffee ordered arrived 10 minutes later. This happened the last time we came last year. Nothing seems to arrive all at once, you think you're order has been forgotten. The floor beneath the counter was noticeably dirty. The napkins that the Cutlery was wrapped in was actually dirty, with things stuck to them from someone else's order. The worst was the loo. The wall beneath the hand drier was really filthy and the sink hadn't been cleaned for a while by the look of it. I mentioned this to the staff at the till. (Some wearing masks some with masks beneath their noses, some wearing them like a chin strap) the hand drier in the mens loos didn't work. Bearing in mind we are in the middle of a pandemic where cleanliness ought to be a priority, this was sadly lacking. If that's what's on show it makes me wonder what is hidden behind the counter. Better staff training and cleanliness of the premises would be a good start. Also, paper menus to avoid cross contamination may be something they could consider too. Could be amazing but just isn't."

"Old fashioned real country pub with lovely, hardworking staff and a good vibe. Plenty of on-site parking. Service was rather slow but they were busy and all staff working flat out to please customers. Draught beers and ciders very good Loved the Haze cider.Great pint. The roast chicken dinners were excellent with the exception of the gravy which was really watery. A good gravy is a key ingredient to a Sunday roast. Please sort this out Charging extra for Yorkshire puddings seemed unnecessary Give everybody one, then charge for additional ones if people want more. We have never eaten out and not has a Yorkshire pudding included with a roast dinner. Cauliflower cheese was extra too. But this has become the norm. The liver and onions with mashed potatoes was a masterpiece Amazing thick tasty gravy with this great traditional dish. The ribeye steak was cooked medium, not medium rare as requested. The jacket potato was good. It had come from the oven not the microwave I’m pleased to say. The homemade peppercorn sauce was thin, watery and tasteless. I sent it back as it wouldn’t coat the steak as it was so thin. This was replaced with an identical jug of inedible watery sauce, unfortunately, which couldn’t be eaten. So the most expensive main course on the menu was a real disappointment and can’t be recommended, but the other meals were delicious and good sized portions representing value for money. The only home made dessert was the apple and raspberry crumble, which 3 of us chose. This was good and plentiful. The passion fruit cheesecake was enjoyed too. Definitely worth trying the Failand Inn if you haven’t eaten there before."

"Who would have thought this little gem of a cafe could exist in Clevedon? An eatery where meat eaters can sit down with vegans or vegetarians, knowing that the food will be equally delicious… and they seem to be able to deal with food intolerances and allergies too. The chefs Nic and Denise are superb, creating good quality, tasty food with fabulous flavours. The service was great very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and attentive. The coffee was perfect with options for dairy free or organic milk and a selection of gluten free sugar free diary free and raw chocolate treats for afters. I can’t wait to go back to try out more… If you like good quality food, made with love, this is the place!"

"We booked a table for 2 for dinner, we were visiting Weston Super Mare for the weekend so booked here based on the location reviews and we wasnt disappointed! From the moment we walked through the door, the service was fantastic. We were seated straight away to our table, asked if we would like a drink and given the menus. The menu has a fantastic selection, we couldn’t believe how much choice there was and there was a specials board too! I chose pate for starter, then we had chilli con carne spagetti bolognaise for mains. The portions were a great size, presented really well delicious! Throughout the evening, the service continued to be exceptional. The female male who served us all evening were lovely (unfortunately, i didn’t get their names) . We had apple pie choc fudge cake for dessert which again were delicious! The portion of the choc fudge cake was huge! We will definately be coming back when we are next in the area in a couple of months time. Thankyou to the staff for making our evening lovely!!!"

"This historic pub is the last treehouse in the village and during lockdowns has been extensively upgraded inside and the courtyard has been upgraded. Homemade food is served seven evenings a week and Sunday roasts are normally available at lunchtimes until the evening menu kicks...in at pm. Landlord Carmino is a great chef and his speciality homemade pizzas are availed nightly to eat in or take away. They are absolutely delicious and my favourite is the seafood. We had a Sunday roast in the pub and it was incredible. Generous helping of meat with all the trimmings. Couldn’t believe how many freshly cooked vegetables came with it dishes kept arriving almost mezze style. I highly recommend this lovely pub which is a great place to go for a drink or a meal."

"This roadside cafe near Lympsham selling traditional English food is easy to miss unless you are a regular on the A370 road into Weston-super-Mare. It is part of the Mores Motor Company garage so if you are a Ford RS enthusiast or owner (like me) you can browse the cars after your meal here. I thought the food on offer was good value, I had a cappuccino in a mug at a bargain £1.50 and a brie/cranberry open sandwich with salad at £5.80. The service was efficient and the food delicious. There are seats indoors and outdoors and a very clean customer toilet. The only downside I could see is that there was just one person serving on the day I visited so there might well be a wait for service at busy times. The cafe is open every day except Sunday. Recommended."

"A last minute decision to try this country pub and what a treat! Great modern set up inside with an olde world feeling and a great atmosphere. Service was excellent and you could see and hear the great work of the chef and the team in the open plan kitchen. Food was exceptional all praise to the chef (who looked ridiculously young but clearly knew what he was doing. So, had the monkfish tail as a starter great presentation, amazing taste. And the main Sunday lunches: one beef and one pork (with perfect crackling)…. Both perfect, great veg. We were completely full, not even room for a coffee or a dessert! Guinness was spot on as was the Rose from Provence…. All made for a 6* Sunday lunch we’ll be back! Thanks to all the team and the chef!"
