"We popped in for a light lunch on a Friday just before 1pm. 2 out of 3 of the party were after a soft drink, which were both advertised on the board behind the till. Unfortunately, these were both out of stock. One of us ordered a cup of tea and we were shocked to note the price, which was the same as a cup of coffee. No extra hot water was provided until asked and so a very small pot of tea is provided for the price to begin with. During our visit, the tea cup was accidently knocked, resulting in a spillage. The gentleman helped us to it clear up, however we were not offered a new tea cup or saucer and so had to use a saucer full of tea, until the lady noted and gave us paper towels to soak up the split tea on the saucer. We all wanted to order a panini for lunch, but were told these were all sold out by 1pm (on a busy Friday lunchtime). We all opted for toasted sandwiches instead, however we had to wait around 20-25 minutes for 3x toasted sandwiches and unfortunately they were very basic. The bread was just about toasted, the tomato chucks were far to big for the small sandwich, which meant some bread was soggy and the onion slices were huge and unedable as a result. The tuna was also not mixed with any mayo, so with cheese, it was rather dry. The side salad was very basic with no salad dressing and they all came out looking different on the 3x plates. For the price of £9 each, they didn't even come with crisps. We understand the price of everything has increased dramatically and wouldn't mind paying £9, if what was provided was of good quality and on par with what is served elsewhere. At the end of our lunch, we were not asked if everything was OK and I wonder if that was because the waiting staff knew it wasn't?"

"I would love to be able to give them a review but I ordered my food as an ONLINE order the was made at 6.51pm, according to my confirmation email. I had a slight alteration to make, so as instructed in the email. I called within 5 mins of making the order, and was told that it was not a problem. The website stated 50 min wait on delivery, which was fine but after not receiving it after 1.5 hours I called the takeaway. To be told it wasn't in the shop so it must be out for delivery... 5/10 more mins. After 10 mins I called again. To then be told there had been a mistake. The order hadn't gone through to the kitchen and my order wasn't there not because it was on its way to me but because it had never been made!! I told them to forget the order. I put the oven on started cooking , to hear a knock on my door... it was the delivery guy with my food... only 1 hour and 50 mins after I had placed the order... asking me to take the food as it was hot telling me to take a discount and then got quite agitated after I refused as I had already put food in the oven. He was showing me a receipt with the incorrect time on it, telling me I was lying. I showed him the confirmation email I had received, he was still trying to tell me I was lying. I will never use this business again. There are 2 other fantastic Chinese takeaways in the area. Its not like we are stuck with them, luckily."

"This beautiful Victorian hotel is right on the seafront a few minutes from the pier and the beach. Your very close by to all the things you could want, plenty of bars restaurants and attractions. I was there for only a night as we were going to see Some Guys have all the luck The Rod Stewart story) but would have been happy to stay the week. The staff are very professional and very helpful The food was great with a menu that had a good choice of dishes maybe could do with a couple more vegetarian dishes but otherwise great. You can sit outside even if it's raining as its covered and even has heating. It is a bit difficult if you are with restricted mobility and whilst there is a lift you still have to tackle stairs . The room we had was lovely very spacious clean and airy with a lovely view, one drawback in the room for a room with 3 people sharing there was only a tiny single wardrobe which didn't matter for us 3 staying for 1 night but any longer that wardrobe would only do for one but there was plenty of drawer space having a few chest of drawers. All In all we enjoyed our stay apart from the noisy guests that prevented us from getting any sleep which the night porter should have stepped up and calmed it down a bit, otherwise we had a lovely stay and after a lovely breakfast had plenty of time to vacate our room. Thank you to the staff who were very professional friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only drawback was we didnt get any sleep as being on the seafront there were rowdy people shouting and making noise passing by and on this occasion there was a rowdy crowd in the hotel which went on till 5am, which when we complained the next morning were told the night porter should have put a stop to it because they were running up and down the stairs being very loud and laughing generally having a good time which is why your there but they should have respect for other guests as the hotel was fully booked."

"Where to start . . . Clues were there tucked away in the bizzare spelling mistakes on the menu but I persevered going for a prawn cocktail starter and the grilled salmon as a main, as those listings were free of the spelling mistakes which put me off the Balognesec Pasta Homemad Cilli. The prawn cocktail starter was ridiculously awful. Four leaves of wilted lettuce with a blob of some sort of redish sauce contained eight tiny cardboard like stale pieces of inedible material. They may well had been potential prawns at some point but these quarter inch offerings were no doubt the cheapest available to the pub but sadly unlike any food offerings I 've previously encountered. I felt awkward having to complain but the delightful girl behind the bar apologised profusely, informing me that they had a new chef and asked if I 'd like an alternative starter. I went for the breaded mushrooms, she promised a few extra to compensate for my dismay. Fair enough. She returned with seven mushrooms and a little paper pot with some not very garlicy maionaise contained. This was at least edible. Then came a plate with a two inch long serving of a leather based piece of something that may have been fish based at some point but had been dried out and shrunk by over enthusiastic grilling, ten dried and wrinkly new potatoes and a spoonful of dried out peas. No sign of the drizzle of garlic butter or the broccoli. For the first time in my life I sent the food back. It was an embarrassment for both myself and the innocent girl behind the bar. So come for a drink but consider your options if you need to eat as the local area is brimming with places that offer better, or at least edible food."

"We were at the garden centre and decided to use the restuarant. There were about 6 people waiting already and it looked like there were no tables free, so a wait was in order. Of the people in front , one had a walking disability and was leaning hevily on a stick. As time passed we watched as the first 10 tables cleared and no one from the queue was let into sit. We were now 15 20 minutes in and the queue had risen to maybe 20 people and the empty tables I counted 16. So I mentioned it to a waiter who was serving tea, he disappeared and nothing happened. Another 5 or 10 minutes passed and there was an abundance of empty tables; the lady in front needed a seat as she had been standing over 30 minutes, so we went and got her one. During this time several waiting staff had been to the head of the queue to replace menus that had come from the empty tables and one waitress even stopped to drink her tea but none of them even spoke to the head of the queue; they just ignored them. I complained again and was told to complain to another person by the serving hatch who was wearing an apron because they were supervisors. I told the supervisor there were about 20 old age pensioners, some with walking difficulties and they were being ignored when they could be let in to at least sit down. I was told quite curtly 'I am serving customers '. What the HELL did she think we were?? After discussion she said the kitchen was backed up because everyone had ordered at once, so I pointed out that she was causing the problem because she was now going to have another 20 orders all at once whereas if she had allowed people in it would be a trickle. Eventually we were let in. I would have walked away but my wife is diabetic and has to eat so we ordered Quiche; I had a green salad. It arrived fairly quickly but my quiche was gritty and I left about a quarter as it wasn 't very nice (my wife 's was ok) and some of the cucumber my green salad had gone mushy and the leaves had gone brown most of the salad was well past its best I left all the salad. My Wife had chosen different options and they were ok. I would avoid this place at all costs! I would also recommend to who ever owns this place that they put the manager and some of their senior staff on written warnings because of the way they treat their customers and their lack of concern over disabled people."

"We’d booked a table for 11 for Sunday lunch carvery. The visit didn’t get off to the best start when I went to the bar to order some drinks. There was only one customer there waiting to be served, but no sign of any staff. Apparently the barman was changing a barrel fine, no problem. After a few minutes he reappeared and continued serving the other customer. In the meantime another couple came to the bar. Eventually a second member of staff appeared to serve and asked who was next. Both the barman and other customer pointed to me. The second member of staff then proceeded to serve the couple that had just appeared. Okay, so perhaps she misunderstood. But after serving them, then just disappeared again, ignoring me. So after about five minutes of waiting I had still not been served, despite there being only one customer waiting. Having finally got some drinks, we went to queue up for the food. My wife isn’t vegetarian, but will often choose a vegetarian dish. When she asked about the vegetarian option she was told in no uncertain terms that they don’t cater for vegetarians so unless it had been preordered there wasn’t an option. I’ve been vegetarian for about 35 years. The last time I ate anywhere that didn’t offer at least one vegetarian option was…about 35 years ago. One vegetarian meal had been ordered so the staff member went to find it. She reappeared a few minutes later with a plate which was then just plonked at the far end of the serving area not handed to me or brought over. She then disappeared. It was shame she didn’t have a name badge because I’d happily name and shame for her terrible approach to customer service. My nine year niece had, naturally a child’s portion, and was told that children could only have three vegetables. However, she didn’t want any of the meat on offer, but despite not having meat was still only allowed three vegetables. Not great value, and fairly contrary to the general attempts to encourage healthy eating. The rest of the food was, mostly over cooked and not particularly tasty, but at the price perhaps not surprising. The meal itself was just a microwaved nut roast, so absolutely no reason why this needed to be pre booked. And nut roast? It’s not the 1990’s anymore, there are other things to eat that aren’t meat. Overall, a fairly bland experience made worse by the terrible staff attitude."
