"Good Friday, 2023. A lovely sunny day. We were sat near the window so that 3 of us experienced being blinded by the sun they could seriously do with blinds. Food came in dribs and drabs. Our starters arrived about 10 minutes after each other. If they are supposed to be individually served, this is unacceptable, as they ought to come together. If, as was suggested, they are supposed to be “like tapas”, surely they ought to be priced per person and served with sufficient portions for each member of the party to enjoy. Not terribly well thought out. Having experienced tapas elsewhere (including Spain) never have I had to endure one portion of tapas delivered 10 minutes before the proceeding one. The food itself was good and flavourful, but I’ve had “samples” from restaurants that were more filling. Cannoli… well a singular cannolo came with all the appearance of being a genuine article, but turned out to be hollow with a tablespoon of ricotta stuffing at the beginning and end, nothing but dry air in the middle! For £7.50! Surely the profit on these is sufficient to put another 20p’s worth of ricotta in them? A half arsedly stuffed cannoli… akin to the sandwiches you buy at railway stations, which look full, but turn out to have a concertina’d, thin, single slice of ham carefully positioned along the cutting edge! Grossly disappointed with that one! An insult to your customers, I won’t be back, and won’t be singing the praises of this place. 10/10 for flavour. 1/10 for effort."

"Good evening, I am writing this review about this restaurant to express my bad experience and such a big disappointment that me and my family got from visiting this place. I want to mention that me and my partner and our both kids one age of seven months and the other one age of two and another friend of ours we have decided to go out for a nice meal considering that we cannot afford such things anymore as it’s hard as it is with all the living costs rising and considering that my partner has been in mat leave for nearly two years now so we have made an effort to go out with all these factors and hoped for a nice Tuesday evening avoiding other busy days as it’s hard as it is going out with two such young kids We have spent about two hours being there and the children’s have been as settled as they can be. After we have paid we were getting ready to leave but it took us time as we had to clean after the kids. In a space of ten minute the two year old child has started running around the restaurant but I have always been behind him to make sure he’s safe, he has done this for about 5 minutes, the restaurant didn’t seem too busy so I just let him consume some energy as he has been behaving and sitting at the table for nearly two hours. At some point this employer called Paulo stood in front of my child to stop him from running and turned around to me and stated with a rude tone “ There is other people eating here “, at this point I couldn’t believe how rude he has been. I have then stated that this is not a comment to make especially as no client has come to him to mention any disturbances and that the child is two so this is not fair at all and I consider that there is no need to say this as we were just about to leave anyway. Why did you ruin our family time Paulo ? Do you even have kids Paulo ? I hope when you would go out next time someone to ruin your night as you did for my family and made us feel disgusted that there is people like you. And above all who are you to stand in front of my child to stop him ? Unfortunately I might have been harsh however I want people to know that if you plan a family night this place is definitely to avoid as it’s not a family friendly place !"

"Almost left within 5 minutes of entry, shown to a table and given menus. After looking for the wine list within the menu, because we were not offered a drink or offered the drink menu, I gestured to the waiter for drinks. He was chatting to a member of staff and very abruptly asked me to wait, so I then verbally asked for the wine list. He again very abruptly asked me to wait. There were 3 other customers on one table in the entire restaurant. I talked myself out of leaving, wished I had, the service leaves something to be desired. We ordered and waited, and waited. Almost 25 minutes. Wouldn’t like to be here when it’s busy! The starters were very good, in fact my king prawn purée was up there with the best. But then we waited again for our mains. My Madras was very tame as was the Naga we ordered. My partner doesn’t like a fuss so just ate his meal, very disappointed. I requested my madras be hotted up. It was taken and brought back hotter. No problem? Yes! there was no polish, no attention to detail, no care. Personally, I have never been treated with so much almost arrogance. We requested the bill and again waited for ages and it was incorrect when it came. It was corrected and brought back. I went to the counter to pay by card. Something we never do. We always pay cash to small businesses. We also always leave a tip. Not today. When asked if everything ok I replied no. He asked why ?so I vaguely commented because I just wanted to get out of there. I don’t know how they would explain the poor service. But in 2 words maybe I can. Meerkat offer! Guys a lesson you may want to learn from my dear departed Dad. Treat every customer like it is their only meal out in a year. Like a special occasion, anniversary or birthday and you can’t go wrong. PS obviously changed hands from the lovely brothers who made you so welcome."

"absolute fab. we're gone. the owner abdul is a beautiful man who has a lot of passion when it comes to his customers. alway takes care of her. travel quietly far for my meal as its right on the highway junction, so ideal. prefer them to pick up as I love a good hot coffee while they wait. the safe good days before, as eating is very fresh. it is very easy to notice that it was just cooked. if they love to eat tasty, then they wrap their own around this place well done!"

"My mates had their wedding reception here today(Oct 10th 2020) even under covid the staff were brilliant the conservatory was nice and cosy and the food was amazing. The buffet was varied and tasty and for the evening meal I had portobello mushroom with cheese and chilli chutney which was really nice but the chicken with dauphinois potatoes were out of this world. I was gutted when I finished my plate. I don’t normally eat chicken with the skin on but this was lovely and crispy with tender chicken underneath. 10 out of 10 to the chef that was on tonight. Highly recommend. Loved every mouth full."

"If you fancy a takeaway delivered over an hour late and when it arrives is stone cold then step right in to Zorbas at Haslingden ! It doesn’t matter if the e mail confirmation says it should be with you within 55 minutes you just add an hour plus on !!! Make sure you have pre heated your oven as it will arrive stone cold along with some pathetic half wit excuse about the weather or the dog ate the order confirmation slip …. Don’t bother phoning either to chase it up as the phone is always inevitably conveniently off the hook… Customer Service is the pits here…. Will never ever visit again and suggest avoid at all costs . Absolutely shocking poor food n service ."

"So disappointed to arrive here for lunch with my husband. We were followed in by a delivery man who was promptly seen to before us. The waiter walked away with the delivery man without acknowledging us and we were left wondering if the restaurant was open at 1pm on a Thursday. A different waiter came back and seated us. We were the only people in the restaurant. Another couple came, were seated and their order was taken. We waited while we could see two members of staff on their phones or stood around. Still no one came to take our drinks and food order. We didn’t feel very welcome and decided to leave. When leaving a waiting called out “cheers” to us. I have eaten here before and the food is good but I have never been impressed with the service."

"What a fab person Berni is! We needed a venue last minute after another venue had to cancel and she sorted everything for us! The room looked amazing, the staff on the bar were fab and kept wait times to a minimum. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely hire the room again. Everyone had a great night and everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere was perfect for the party and everyone danced all night! Thanks so much to Berni and the team. Helen x"

"Hello Thought we would give the promenade a second chance after a bad steak night !!! Presentation was good,and service was good, but the steak was NOT good. I ordered ribeye (medium) it came rare(infact blue) and very tuff and full of sinues. I did tell staff,they offered to cook it again, but it was too late the moment had gone, and my wife had finished her meal. Then tried charging us £12 over the original price !!! Sorry but I won't be returning. Very disappointed. Wayne Morris"

"Attended a family party at the wool pack pub it was very clean and the bar staff where brilliant however unfortunately the landlady made us feel very unwelcome from very early on.Promises where made regarding the booking none of which where kept! We was made to feel like she was watching our every move and couldn’t feel comfortable, it felt like she was looking for a reason to come over and have a go at us all. This was made worse when the landlady eventually approached us all with an extremely aggressive manor and was high rate about small things. She outlined her “rules” which where understandable but her attitude was appalling for someone who is meant to interact with the public. The landlady’s attitude towards the entire party was extremely inappropriate and if I’m honest disrespectful. Eventually we was FORCED to leave due to her Demanding YOUNG CHILDREN (between the ages of 3 8) need to be out the building even after we explained taxis had been order but hadn’t arrived! Although we understood her reasons we can’t not accept such a disgraceful attitude !"

"Quality at Little Money Old fashioned Chippy at its best sit in or out Great Fish Chips Well been here few times after that inconsiderate guy at Grandma Pollards retired well he was in 70s . So back to Toffs fish cooked to order fresh great size and quality good choice of chippy style products but chips cooked to perfection taste crisp and that taste other chippys cant achieve how hard is it to cook chips but seems only a select few can get it rite and they are mouth wateringly good , the fish is not greedy tiny portion and choice of few but I like hake so the Large is for good appetite and you will love it ask for lightly battered if your taste , then cod always on menu . If sitting in they do meal deal Chips Peas or gravy and Bread butter coffee or tea then choice of standard or large size fish its good price and great venue for kids , So would I go back no way , I lie its great love it and if we do fish chips its first stop and we have to travel , also on take away important point yes matters they use cardboard boxes why is it green is it recyclable yes but polystyrene sweets makes chips fish soggy cardboard lets breath stays crisp longer . So why do I give another place 5 out of 5 again because its not just good its great . Give it a go and you will ot be disappointed ether sit in or take away ."

"Andrea initially offered creative ideas, options, and advice to ensure that the hen party was perfect for me and the girls. She even took the time to call me personally to discuss everything before I made any decisions. I opted for the Mad Hatter's afternoon tea, which was perfect since I’m a huge Disney fan. The décor she arranged was spot-on and the food and drinks were delightful. They reserved a private room for us for the afternoon, and I provided a list of the girls along with their drink selections in advance, which was executed flawlessly. Even those who requested beverages other than tea or coffee received their drinks promptly upon arrival. The pink lemonade in the tea room is incredible! After one girl asked for it, the rest followed suit! I ordered the £17.50 afternoon tea for each girl, along with separate bottles of prosecco for those who wanted a glass. The afternoon turned out to be one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had, and every girl commented on how delicious everything was. The variety of sandwiches and the selection of cakes and desserts were fantastic. The heavenly macarons, chocolate cake, and rhubarb and custard tart were a hit with everyone—we highly recommend them! Throughout the afternoon, the waitress kept me updated on everything that happened. Her attention to every girl ensured they all had enough drinks and assistance as needed—she always had a smile and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Even after the 4 PM closing time, we were not rushed out the door. The Mad Hatter, organized by Andrea, was absolutely fantastic! She brought so much fun to the day, engaged with every girl, and provided delightful surprises along the way. She made sure that every girl felt included and her knowledge of Wonderland was mesmerizing! If you're looking for the perfect place to host a fun, themed afternoon tea with high-quality food and impeccable service, I can’t recommend Dearden Tea Rooms highly enough. Andrea and her team are a true credit to the local community. I can’t wait to return for another afternoon tea or lunch!"

"We have been coming here for many years now and I just thought it was time to share how amazing this place is. It’s often very quiet when we go and we therefore get speaking to Mae, the owner often. She is lovely and has a good banter with her customers, we have built a very good relationship with her and is one of the reasons we go back, because we end up full of laughter every time! The second reason is obviously the food! We usually go on a Thursday when you get a starter, main and desert for £7!! And they’re all the same meals as a normal day! A deal too hood to miss out on! We also usually get an extra side dish of salt pepper chicken because they are the best around! I’m quite addicted to them!This little Chinese deserves more credit! The friendliest of owners and the nicest of food at fantastic prices! No complaints! EVER!"

"We ate here as a family on Saturday July There were adults, one five year old and a baby. The restaurant is our local, just down the road so we know it well It has a nice family atmosphere, busy but not noisy, and friendly. The staff are attentive and cheerful but not pushy. The service is good, even when busy. The owner is very hands on and greets everyone. We chose the rioja wine which was gorgeous. The house wines are good too from past experience. The starters, pizzas and pasta are excellent and good value. Tasty and well cooked. In comparison the mains and specials can be overpriced and the portions quite small, although flavoursome. Two of our party had them and were a bit disappointed. Our pizza, the Anacapri, unusually,was a bit lack lustre, undercooked and not very tasty. Usually they are really good. However it didnât spoil our evening and we all enjoyed it, especially the children. Nobody minds them walking about and they get special attention."

"Very expensive for average food, service was absolutely terrible! didn’t cater to a large party well at all, drinks are severely overpriced and most of them were flat or tasted Funny. Would not recommend this place to anybody anymore which is a shame because it used to be a lovely restaurant. Really needs to improve with there customer skills, with every single person that worked there as we found them rude and ignorant."
