"I have gone to the Garibaldi many times especially under the previous owners who always provided a warm welcome and delicious food 7 days a week. Unfortunately under the new management I have to write a very poor review of a so called Sunday roast and very poor service too. A bit like Fawlty Towers that was filmed around the corner in Bourne End. When I first arrived it took ages for someone to come and ask what we wanted to drink and we were then left for 15 minutes before I had to ask if someone would take my food order. We both went for the large roasts turkey and beef with side vegetables. A couple of locals walk in get drinks and service snd their roasts before us, when our vegetables and roasts arrived they were cold and the meat rare. We had to ask for the meat to be reheated. When I was asked if I wanted another drink they did not have any more Merlot. When our food did come back it was just about edible. We were left for ages after we had finished our mains and had to ask for pudding. The apple pie was reasonable but we had to take our empty pudding plates to the bar as we wanted an Irish coffee and after waiting and no one collecting our empty plates we were then told their coffee machine was not working. Please bear in mind this pub only offers home cooked roasts on a Sunday and the rest of the week they get in out sourced caterers. The so-called land lady did not come around to ask if the food was OK or to welcome new clientele and the pub dog is allowed to roam around and sniff your food. Needless to say we will not be returning but we recommend the Cricketers at Littlewick Green for great service and a fabulous Sunday roast."

"Went to our first 'Curry Club ' at the Gate. The food was exceptional, and portions were very generous. There was live entertainment between mains and dessert, which was fantastic. The belly dancer was so talented and engaging with the audience, and those brave enough to join her were welcomed. It was a really fun night, and I would definitely be coming back. Parking: Parking is very limited Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Parking space: Difficult to find parking Parking options: Free street parking"

"Arrived in Marlow to find The coach only doing breakfast at weekends so on Friday I was directed by Marlow Green to Coopers on the globe park estate, which is open on Friday. Great system, in one door out the other limited menu I am told on entry but go for the avocado and eggs but a choice still, sourwood, white or whole meal toast! Told where my coffee will appear and also my breakfast and given a “flying saucer” small disk which will light up when coffee is ready, breakfast ready and button to turn off lights. First young lady to speak with a mask on that I can hear and understand! At my table there is a sign ‘Please do not feed Cooper’ and I look for a bird in a cage or similar. Nothing. They I am aware as I read my newspaper of a small black head leaning on my table! I ask if Cooper can have small dog treats I carry with me and given the ok. Great service and great system but I guess because of location only open 3 days a week as the trading estate looks deserted and car park empty. Can’t wait for my next visit."

"the contribution kovid experience of clayton is fantastic. not overcrowded, and the terrace ambiente is excellent. they were super nice to our puppies with plates cold water, and the beer is somehow still fresh and cold after all the months. the ordering system is very appreciated by phone and fast, they were kind to help us get it thru. in the last days we were only warned at 12 o'clock the door and the service was great. eating is quite tasty add some cheddar to the chickenburgers, and get the chorizo with a side pint of estrella damm....so good. also enjoyed the garlic garnels."

"A beautiful insight into an authentic English Pub. If you like Darling Buds of May and want a view of time gone by, pop in after a stunning walk in the Chilterns. Very friendly. Ten stars."

"While ordering the Goan fish curry from Marlow Maliks tonight, my partner and I were really disappointed as the dish did not match the description. We expected monkfish but received a mushy, overcooked cod like texture quite different from the usual dense, meaty quality of monkfish 100% what we received was not monkfish. Upon contacting the restaurant, we encountered rudeness and skepticism, with the staff dismissing our concerns. Notably, a similar issue was raised in a recent Google review just a day before our experience. Despite bringing this to the restaurant's attention, they showed no interest in addressing or resolving the matter and were aggressive and rude to us. This disappointing encounter, coupled with unprofessional customer service, has left us reconsidering our loyalty to Maliks after being customers for over a decade. We regretfully won't be returning."

"My friends and I arrived at the Russell Arms 15 minutes before their opening time on a Sunday, eager to have some lunch and drinks after a long and tiring hike around Coombe Hill and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. We were among the first to enter the pub and requested a table for three. To our disappointment, the lady informed us that they were fully booked. When we asked when the next available booking would be, she replied that the entire day was booked solid. We then enquired about seating outside and in the garden, but those were supposedly booked as well. Even a drink at the bar was off-limits even tough we'd be standing. Left with the bitter taste of rejection, we departed disappointed and ended up consuming the few snacks we had brought with us before continuing our hike. What added insult to injury was that as we passed by the Russell Arms a few hours later, we saw plenty of free tables. It left us feeling that they could have accommodated us, which marred an otherwise brilliant day of hiking. As a warning to fellow hikers and visitors, if you plan on going to the Russell Arms after your hike, make sure to book in advance to avoid the same disappointment we experienced. We ended up going to Wendover for lunch, where there are more choices and a much more welcoming atmosphere. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a post-hike meal."

"My in laws live in High Wycombe and for years we've enjoyed going for lunches at The Old Bell when we visit them. On this occasion it was Mother in Law's birthday. Booked but didn't realise it has been taken over from the previous owners. Greeting was friendly, starters came super quick and were tasty (Mackerel Pate and Chicken Wings). So far so good, 4 roasts and a Caesar Salad for mains. Worryingly, mains came out literally seconds after the starter plates were taken away. What a horrible sight (think of School Dinners); everything already served on the plate (no helping yourself at the table) awash with watery brown liquid (NOT a rich gravy), the yellow mush turned out to be Cauliflower Cheese, beef look alright but turned out chewy, roast potatoes weren't they were the shape of a frisbee and looked like they'd been fried on one side (and were now waterlogged sitting in the puddle of brown liquid) and the huge Yorkshire was burnt to a crisp (dark brown/black). The waitress came past asking if everything was OK, before I could answer she walked off. As she passed again, I explained I was not happy because of the above. She informed who I assumed was the owner/manager who asked if I wanted anything else, I refused (if that was the standard of food, no thanks and I had lost my appetite). Nobody finished the roasts but salad was finished. Desserts were 2 x ice cream (can't get that wrong) and Apple Pie and Custard which came upside down resulting in soggy pastry. On receiving the bill (over £150) I noted no concession at all for the appalling meals, I did raise this with a waitress who just walked past. I decided not to make a scene and upset the family so paid and left. Clearly the owner/manager who we walked past on leaving didn't care, she had our money by then, as no apologies were offered. Spoilt a Birthday treat and we will never ever return to The Old Bell. A real shame as we had been looking forward to returning to an old favourite."

"This is how my strawberry and chocolate waffle arrived having spent £10 for it. Not only were the strawberries glued on to the lid, the chocolate had hardened over the strawberries. They can’t get a simple waffle right. Don’t order from here, they cheap out with poor ingredients."

"Visted the horseshoes today for Sunday lunch with family. Must say that it was the best Pub Sunday lunch we've ever had! Really great food, with decent portion sizes, unlike many other venues. Great value for money and of a very high standard. Staff...were all great, really welcoming and helpful. I must also mention that I've never left a review for anywhere ever before, but was so impressed with our meal that I felt compelled to leave a review. We will definitely be back. Thank you!"

"I would give this terrible takeaway a zero if I could. The portions are tiny, the food is poorly cooked, and the fish and chips are overpriced and slimy. I was shocked by the quality. We ordered 2 small cod, a large cod, and haddock with chips and 4 drinks for £50. When we asked for ketchup, we were told to buy a pricey bottle. The staff were young and seemed to blame the pandemic for the poor service. I recommend going to Smiles in Beaconsfield instead, but be aware that they no longer offer sit-down dining. Avoid this place and go to Woburn Green for fish and chips instead. Service: Takeout Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: £1-10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"When we visited this pub with a Groupon voucher, we were unsure of what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and friendly staff. The women ordered ploughmans, which came in generous portions with crusty bread, cheese, ham, and pickled onions. The men enjoyed ranchers chicken burgers with plenty of chicken, bacon, and cheese in a brioche bun, along with a side of chips. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience."

"We had read good reviews about this place so thought we would go for a pint before a family lunch. Admittedly it was at midday on a Sunday, but the place looked like it had closed on Saturday and someone had pitched up bang on midday on the Sunday. The ashtrays were still over flowing from the night before, the floor was filthy, there was glass on the floor in the toilet, as well as tissues on the floor. The tables were still dirty from the day before. And yet somehow the beer was good. Used to be nice years ago so we gave it a go again after some nice comments on ‘Positively Marlow’ but it doesn’t look like the cleaners had been in since then. Maybe don’t open Sunday if that is all the effort that is put in."

"After seeing the recommendation on Trip Advisor, I was a bit underwhelmed by the basic appearance of the restaurant when I arrived. I was initially worried that the lack of customers meant it might not be a good choice. Despite not finding the fish and chips on the menu as suggested, I opted for the chicken kebab instead. To my delight, it was delicious, and the accompanying salad was very fresh. The chips were also tasty, and there was a generous selection of sauces available. The beer (Smugglers) was also very enjoyable. The service was excellent, and overall I had a very satisfying lunch experience. I deducted one star only because some new chairs would improve the comfort level. Despite this, I still highly recommend this restaurant."

"Trash place with zero interest in serving people of colour. Was patiently stood, with a simple query about ingredients in one of the desserts in the front display, waiting for nigh on ten minutes to be acknowledged, yet despite being seen by a member of staff who glanced at me more than once when she was at the till, she opted to serve two white clientele first who'd approached the counter after me. Upon eventually serving everyone else and finally acknowledging me, her paltry excuse was that she hadn't seen me (despite noticing me twice as I stood there waiting . And then claiming the others were in the queue! Yet I'd been stood there before they even joined it!! During that time, at least two other waitresses had walked past the counter and blatantly ignored me, not even having the politeness to acknowledge my presence (yet seemed fine to acknowledge other customers, who, surprise surprise, weren't people of colour... coincidence, much?? . Utterly appalling experience, do better, much much better. Not surprised, given the lack of diversity in the staff that they have scant regard for the customer experience of people of colour."

"Stopped here for food ordered steak medium with peppercorn sauce. Arrived poured on sauce and cut in to steak to find it was rare so sent it back. They cooked the same steak again making it medium and tough brought back with no sauce so just a dry steak poor service also must of run out of tomatoes as no grilled tomatoes on my plate"

"I recently dined at this restaurant and although the portions were generous, I found it to be a bit dirty. The burgers were decent, but not as good as GBK, and the pizza and pasta were just okay, not as tasty as Cizis, etc. Ultimately, a restaurant should be judged on its food, and for that reason, I gave it a thumbs down. It's a shame because there are many things done well, just not where it really matters. The restaurant has great decor and a nice atmosphere, with a kind of American Italian vibe. It is also very family-friendly with a great children's menu. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they offer good promotions (I even ate for free on Father's Day). Unfortunately, the main reason people go to a restaurant, the food, was disappointing. (Review date: June 19, 2011)"

"Frankie and Benny's was fantastic. They were able to accommodate us last minute on Mother's Day and even offered a complimentary meal for moms. However, we had issues with our OpenTable booking as it did not go through with the restaurant. We only discovered this when I called to make changes to our reservation."
