"We stayed here for five nights, which was our first time in the area of the Amalfi coast. Although I would stay at this hotel again, I don 't believe you need five nights. However, we took a day trip from here to Pompeii and went on a boat tour to Capri, which was fabulous. In other reviews, people said the service was not as friendly. I 've traveled everywhere in Europe, all over Italy, Germany, and many other places. First of all, if you 're American, don 't act like an American in Europe. Two particular things: don 't be loud and don 't be impatient. This is off-putting to any European. Things are slower here, meaning we can sit down for 3 to 4 hours at the dinner table and not feel rushed. We were on the fifth floor, one above the pool area. I found the pool staff very friendly, especially Augusto. The pool area is the best spot in town to sit out and have drinks. The food at the pool is not overpriced, in my opinion. Just be patient when you order a drink. We had dinner in the restaurant and in our room, and it was very good each time. See pictures. The clam pasta is amazing. The breakfast also has a great view overlooking the marina traffic and the beach. They serve fresh croissants, pastries, fruit, omelettes, and eggs made to your liking. Remember, the Italian vacation motto is the sweetness of doing nothing. Robert at the front desk is very nice. Also, a great suggestion to anyone, even if you can 't speak the language, use a translator app. At least they see you 're trying to communicate with them since it is their country. We had a junior suite, which was particularly comfortable with an extra sitting room and a great balcony view, especially considering other hotels in the area. If you are coming to Positano for the first time and only want to visit the city, you need approximately four hours to walk all the way around, see the views, and leave. Hope this is helpful to anybody wanting to stay at this facility."
