A La Maree - Piatti

We started with a terrific seafood salad (fruits de mer) and good wine, then proceeded to two different entrees, both of which were excellent. We were too full for coffee. Wonderful meal by the sea.

They forgot one of the starters. They didn't even think after give one person a starter to give the second person also one. They can't think. So we asked 5 min later. They bring us 5 min the second one, far after my girlfriend finished.

Ate dinner here on our first night in San Raphael. We're met with a warm welcome from Front of House. We chose the set menu as several of the items we fancied were included in this. My goats cheese starter arrived with both pieces of toast burnt. However, I did enjoy the swordfish. Overall the food was nothing special for the cost. Visualizza piatti

A warm welcome, a display of fresh seafood near the entrance and that convinced me to stay for a meal.The Sole was just so fresh and delicious, as were the prawns. Service was timely and the salad was interesting as well as beautifully dressed. Desserts.....go for the soufflé with Grand Marnier or Tarte Tatin.Well worth a visit and I hope they can keep up this high standard during the summer months.

Since the restaurant we had in mind was fully booked we picked this one. It seemed not to be the best choice. Although the restaurant looked nice (Nice terras and chairs) it was the intention of the personnel to serve all courses (starter, main and dessert) as fast as possible. At 22PM the music stopped which resulted in a strange atmosphere. Overall the food was acceptable but really not worth the money. I would chose a different restaurant the next Time.

We had visited this quiet port area with our two children some years ago and returned as a couple this September. We chose to eat at a la Maree and it was a good decision. The food, (particularly the starters) was excellent. I was also assisted in my french when ordering table water. I asked for a pichet of water and was politely and gently advised that in french it should be a carafe of water - small point but worth knowing.Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Friends who live in the area took us to this restaurant saying they had been before and really liked it. Good setting on the boat dock, nice looking restaurant. Had a drink. OK. Then it went downhill. Started with oysters and whitebait, OK, then we all had "loup" ... small whole sea bass which was dry. Big issue was service, it was terrible. Had to ask at least twice for everything, water, bread, condiments, and they got every order wrong. We were served by at least five different waiters / maitre' d. It was lunch time and very quiet, all restaurants on the dock, strange for August. Fortunately we were not in a hurry because it was real slow, Must be better options. Our friends totally agree...

The setting is fantastic, the food was superb, the portions huge. With hindsight we shouldn't have had starters but we did and they were lovely. We both had fish and it was delicious apart from the scallops which were almost certainly the worst we had ever tried. My fish soup was worth the visit alone. So why only three stars?The waiter made my girlfriend feel uncomfortable and self conscious. We don't speak French but have eaten out every day during our four night stay in Saint Raphael with no problems. A smile wouldn't kill him or even showing a bit more interest. Despite being in a lovely location and with one of the largest terraces on the port front, and the fact that it was only 25% full It took us 4 requests to get a jug of water and another 3 to get a second one. The calamari was frozen and pre battered - I can literally buy the same stuff in the supermarket, though they claim 'all their seafood is delivered fresh every day'. Mussels were tiny and not very meaty, we had eaten 10x better the day before. When it came to mains, I ordered one of the house specialities, 39 euros, my friends other stuff.
