"We spent time here recently in one of the cabins attached to the main building with our dogs. The room was clean but tiny and dark and the bathroom smelt musty. It was badly in need of an update I can’t imagine when it was last done. The beds were uncomfortable. The road was noisy constant traffic including lorries which kept is awake most of the night. It was good to have a small grassy area at the back to take our dogs for a wee. Lots of tea coffee and toiletries provided which was nice and most of the staff were very friendly. Due to my husband being taken ill we had to stay an extra night, we were charged over £90 for this which I thought expensive compared to what we had paid for the rest of our stay. Whilst packing to leave one of the dogs pushed a biscuit under the bed. I put my hand under to get it but couldn’t reach it so I got a wire coat hanger from the cupboard to get it out. I was shocked to see an unwrapped razor blade appearing. Luckily I hadn’t sliced my fingers. I took it to the reception when I checked out and gave it to the man there. He just looked at it and mumbled something about workman. I didn’t get an apology or a show of any concern. I felt he was very rude. We were not happy with our accommodation and won’t be going back."

We had a glorious Sunday lunch again today. Its the best in the area. food is always piping hot, served well and presented. Choice of three meats with four different vegetables and roast potatoes. Homemade Yorkshire puddings and lovely gravy.

Our family of 6 had our Christmas lunch this year at Anvil Lodge. So very disappointing. We were all crammed in , no space, and the service was appalling. Waited so long between courses. Food was brought in all plated up including gravy like a transport cafe. Champagne served in a marquee type place that smelled badly of gas and not enough chairs. Will never go there again

Stayed at the Andel Lodge for a couple of nights breakfast and Dinner both of which were amazing. Staff were really helpful and friendly. They had a couple of functions on which kept the, busy but we were always well attended . The functions did not disturb our stay at all. Yes the road is noisy but it’s easy to get every where . The bathroom was spotless and room well presented .

We attended for a group lunch. Two people to serve 40. One behind bar in lounge serving also in function room. Slow unsure service and expensive for some. Food received and was ok but some experienced a long delay and one gluten free meal had terrible gravy. With only two serving the food it took a long time and was not a controlled event. This was far from what had been a good previous experience. We will not go again.

Unfortunately we invited the family to Christmas lunch with us. We had my grandson who is 12 with us. He asked if the Yorkshire puddings had been cooked on the sun. They were black as were some of the baked potatoes. Obviously been waiting in the oven for hours. Our main meal didn’t arrive until almost 3pm. The beef was advertised as rib which it most certainly wasn’t. Hard to tell as the slice was so small. There were three waitresses to serve in the region of 60 people. Never again.

Stayed at the Andel Lodge while attending a motor racing event at the nearby Adrian Flux Arena. Overall the room was nice. A little musty but that soon aired out. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. On the down side for a family room the bathroom was lacking. There was no anti-slip mat on the gloss tiled floor which for kids is not good. Also the hot water was very very hot from the tap. You will not find four star facilities or decor at the Lodge but you will find a warm welcome and a comfy bed.

Have passed the Andel Lodge many times and each time commenting that we must give this a try! Let down at Arbuckles, we tried our luck and they were able to feed us! Nice friendly atmosphere, and nice restaurant, but we Elle Ted to eat in the bar. Food excellent and good prices. Varied menu and was able to satisfy all our pallets. ...only negative that stopped me giving 5 star was the fact that service was slow. There was only one person in the bar area, serving drinks and taking orders and whilst really friendly the delays were inevitable as she could only be in one place at a time. That being said the quality of the food was worth the slight wait. We are looking forward to going back.....w...

We have just had a wonderful weekend at andel lodge for my mums wedding anniversary. The sat evening was the main event as they had originally had their wedding here they decided to go back and celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary their too. Had a wonderful 3 course dinner, food was Devine. The waiting staff were spot on. Very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. My son arrived late as he was working but they held his food back for him and he had it when he arrived. We then went back and joined our family for breakfast the next morning and once again this was fab. Gorgeous fresh cooked breakfast with a few fussy ones changing things but again they were happy to do this. My bro...

"My wife and I stayed here for a few days to celebrate my birthday. We chose Titchwell Manor due to its location on the A149. From here we can catch the Coasthopper up or down the coast. The bus stops are 100 metres outside the hotel. We were greeted in the car park and shown to our room behind the hotel. We had Basil number 21. It is a large comfortable room, with walk in shower and the fluffiest towels we have ever had. The room was very well heated and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was served from a civilised 8am. The plate of fresh fruit was really good. If you choose to have you eggs poached they will be the most perfect you will ever have with their lovely orange yokes. The rest of the components were equally good and served with leaf tea or great coffee. The bars each had a lovely roaring log fire, where we enjoyed a drink before our meal. The menu choices we made were ham hock, brioche piccalilli and burnt apple purée followed by venison, Jerusalem artichoke and rainbow kale. The other choice was marinated beetroot, basil pesto and goats cheese cream followed by salt baked celeriac, sage and onion with crispy kale. Both meals were outstanding. The venison was very tender and the celeriac was outstanding. On the basis of this dish, a very under stated vegetable. Service was very good and served at a speed we dictated without the continual pestering we have experienced elsewhere. We will definitely come back here as the whole stay was a great experience."
