"Absolute rubbish, don’t eat there. We had what was very basic food with no flair or imagination from the kitchen, there is much better food at every other establishment in North Norfolk, the service was no better. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review without complaining directly, but I don’t feel this place deserves the courtesy, they know they’re preparing and serving substandard food and charging over the top prices for it. We’ve been visiting North Norfolk for many years and the choice of where to eat is vast, so it’s taken a long time to eat at The Ship, every time we drive past I say, We’ll have to go there this week – I wish we’d carried on driving past! It was back at the beginning of July when we ate there and it’s because today I found the receipt in my wallet that I thought I must leave a review, £91 wasted, for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 beer and one soft drink, it was very poor, the worst and most expensive meal of the week by a long way, shocking all round."

Wonderful restaurant and bar. Friendly staff dog friendly and good food. Menu looked good we had haddock and chips excellent. Tasty pint of real ale at a good price. Wine is pricey. Nearby activities: Brancaster beach 18 mins walk away. Terrific walks best taken at low tide when you get miles of sand Dogs allowed away from part near golf course club house. Food drinks: We only dined, as we were staying just down the road in self-catering accommodation, and the food was good. The cheesecake was very delicately flavoured, I was expecting a bit more of a punch of flavour, but its accompanying apple sorbet was great. We were comped the dessert because we had to wait so long for them, though they weren't mentioned in any way when my husband paid. So maybe they just forgot? I had had to leave earlier to get our baby to bed after eating my half really quickly. Service was much friendlier and more prompt earlier in the evening before it got busy.
