"Came with high expectations after our experience at the Chelmsford branch, however were disappointed. The vietnamese coffee we looked forward to wasn't served at this branch and neither did they have the instore made special chilli sauce. Our food was lacking in authenticity and the flavours a little lacking really. Out of the five different waiters/waitresses serving our table, only two were seemed to know about table service and the menu. One of the waitresses didn't know the names of any of the dishes and didn't seem to care to know or where people's heads are situated when serving food. No accidents happened luckily. The pandan pancakes were nice, the blackened monk noodles and Jawa chicken no pictures) was also alright. I booked it last minute for a large group online with special requests did require a £20 deposit which wasn't charged unless of no-show) and it was very nice of the restaurant to accommodate us. This branch had some cool swing chairs and the lower table seats as well. No complaints about hygiene, everything was nice and clean. At the time we went, it was still fine for dinner with young children. Note: female toliets are one floor up."

We loved it. Good sized portions for a very reasonable price. Coconut mocktail was fantastic. So was the Banana tree special noodle dish with chicken and prawns

The food was so yummy. Service was good, but we did have to keep asking for a lot of things on the table that should have been bought automatically, such as right cutlery and tissues. But I love the atmosphere and food.

The food here is consistently good. It’s a great place for groups as well, catching up with friends or an occasion. The standout dishes are the Singapore chicken laksa, the satay sticks, sticky wings and the green Thai curry. Service is quick and prices are reasonable.

Went for a meal today. Told manager it’s a meal for son birthday, he did nothing about it, ok , didn’t expect anything! Seating was on hard metal chairs, and felt very cold and uncomfortable. Also receipt said %10 tip included, but charged us %12! Didn’t understand their explanation , But We paid anyway.

First time I've been in a few years and very nice experience. Enjoyed something new from the menu. Loved their 2-4-1 virgin cocktails. Food was delicious and well made. Very good, attentive service and we were able to pay our own bill at the table when ready via our own phones. No rush to leave and very relaxed atmosphere, felt the music was a little loud for a lunchtime service.

We went to Banana Tree and ordered from their express lunch menu. The food portions were huge! Unlike some restaurants, they did not make the portions smaller as we were ordering from a lunch time offer. We were also able to order from their happy hour, and the mocktails were yummy. The food was delicious and full of flavour, and the service was quick and friendly. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Really nice pan Asian restaurant. Its been a while since I've been to a Banana Tree, but the menu looked good with a nice variety of Asian dishes. Ordered papaya salad and Thai chicken wings for starters. Very tasty. For mains we ordered 2 x chicken pad Thai and 2 x prawn laksa. The pad Thai was quite bland but the laksa was lovely. Fantastic spicy taste with aubergines, tofu, prawns, coriander, beansprouts and lime. Can totally recommend! Service very nice and friendly. Bill came to £88 for 4 of us.

We were looking for a place to hangout and we chose this spot. First, it has a beautiful ambience which was ideal for the night less light. We were a bit confused about where to sit at first. There was a demarcation for drinks and food. We eventually spoke to someone and they helped. The food section was at the right coming in through the door. The food was really good as it was my first time eating an Asian soup. We had a good time and making payment was the easiest. No papers and cards and machines. Again, we had to ask about the payment part as we sat there for long hoping that the paper would come. The staff were really friendly and polite. I’ll recommend this place if you are looking t...

Myself and a group of friends dined out last night at Banana Tree. This was my first experience at this restaurant and I have to say it probably won't be my last. The service was prompt and polite and the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. They had a good variety of authentic dishes and a varied menu for vegans also. We ordered the spring rolls for starters which were delicious, the pastry was crispy and the filling was flavoursome. For my main I ordered the crispy tilapia fillets covered with a spicy tamarind sauce with jasmine rice and crushed nuts. The flavours were balanced beautifully and the fish cooked perfectly. As a food lover my only complaint would be the portion sizes coul...

"Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
