"How this place rates a Michelin Star leaves me questioning how Michelin award stars. We heard about the place as a leading light in whatever is a dull food scene in Berlin during a visit to this great City. To start with as a so seater it is cramped , uncomfortable and not the place where you want to be spending near on hours if you have the courses in full) with poor kitchen extraction near at hand. It’s slow , it’s very slow service ... it’s also charmless and in many other restaurants where they explain the dishes, the sauces and where everything is from it’s done with a sense of charm, often humour and passion. Not here , it’s sterile, functional and factual. The courses take a long time and after an hour of a couple of tiny snacks the hunger kicks in. The food is in our view lacking in character... it’s another attempt of a Noma style menu without the finesse of the cooking. Flavours that don’t work or are superfluous, often a heavy hand on over salting. The only dish I thought worthy of all the fuss was the Lobster Taco. We left before dessert . Wines by the glass are tiny in quantity and expensive Dinner is plus service . Frankly if In Berlin stick to schnitzel, sausage or the middle eastern food . If you have any Michelin type aspirations give this joint a miss!"

Very good. Loved the fermentation and umami flavours. Vegetarian menu almost, because we took the extra dish with deer and there was one amuse with lardo. Very surprised by the techniques and strong taste of the dishes. The wines weren’t our taste, there were some...good ones but the match/pairing with the dishes could be better. Service was very good, ambiance very nice. We liked the small bistro feeling with the open kitchen. We didn’t miss meat or fish at all. It was served in a good tempo as well, not too slow or fast.
