"If I could have given this restaurant 3 1/2 stars, I would. However I have generously marked up. My husband and my son really enjoyed their food, however I was disappointed. My starter of gravadlax was lovely and fresh and I really enjoyed it. However my main, sea bass, (although in a beautiful sauce with lovely samphire, was pinky brown and tough. I don’t know what was wrong with it, I have never had sea bass like that before. Maybe it had been frozen previously or wasn’t very fresh. They tried to cook it some more but it was still the same. To be fair I was not charged for this item, however I had no real main course to eat and was mostly sat watching my husband and son! My second mistake was to order the panna cotta for dessert. I’ve never had such a bland, watery panna cotta, with a weird texture. Taking pity on me, my husband swapped and gave me his dessert. I can’t remember the name of what it was but it was maybe a lemon curd tart with some kind of dark fruit? Anyway, it was absolutely delicious. Tangy scrumptious filling and lovely pastry. So at least I got to eat something nice! The proprietor and staff were lovely to us and our dog. I’m afraid I wouldn’t go back though."

"Really good food at a reasonable price. One of not many actual restaurants in Woolacombe rather than pub that does food . Being able to book also makes it a rarity in town which is really good. Service was good but not great this is only reason for not giving 5 stars. Another tip the specials board was quite big when we were there, nearly doubling the menu choices! Don 't be too put off of if menu looks a bit small. Perhaps the restaurant should put a few example specials boards on their website to help advertise this?"

"We just returned from our first visit to The Rock during the 5th day of our annual family holiday in North Devon. We were unsure if we wished we had discovered this beautiful place earlier or if we were glad we hadn't because we would have spent a fortune wanting to visit every day! We had an amazing meal with our 8-year-old son, who enjoyed the excellent service. As someone who is conscious about fitness and health, I am always meticulous about the meals I eat, but I treat myself when eating out. This was by far the best dining experience I've had in a long time. We started with the veggie deli board, which was delicious and could have been a meal in itself for two people. I ordered the Thai crab cakes as a starter but the staff were very accommodating and made it a main course with extra salad and some delicious chunky chips. My husband had the Thai green sweet curry and our son had a burger with cheese from the children's menu. For dessert, I had pancakes, my husband had sticky toffee pudding, and our son had a warm chocolate brownie. We were so satisfied with our meal that we indulged in coffee and truffles afterwards. I cannot recommend this place enough for its amazing food and service. We will definitely be back next year, and maybe even earlier if we can squeeze in another visit before we leave for home on Saturday!"

"We had a fantastic meal featuring pulled pork and a bark burger served with fries. Peter opted for chips topped with garlic mushrooms. We kicked things off with nachos accompanied by salsa, sour cream, and jalapeño paprika. To finish, we enjoyed a lovely red wine recommended by the charming and attentive bartender, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere at Bar Electric is serene, simple, and relaxing. I can only imagine how lovely it must be in the height of summer when the place is in full bloom. Thank you very much!"

"was often to woolacombe, but for the first time in the beach house. highly recommended! really delicious vegetarian options superfood salat and avocado toast were both delicious! service was great, could not do more for us. will definitely come back! Sham app does not allow 5 stars for non-full veg / vegan operation, if the half of the party veg, not half, this was the perfect balance for us."
