We ordered chicken curry, a cheeseburger, and sausage mash at this restaurant. It was the best meal we had all weekend. The service was outstanding, with friendly and welcoming staff.

The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was decent. I stopped by for a pint and ploughman's. There was plenty of cheese, pickle, and warm bread. The coleslaw and pickle tasted homemade. It was all under ten pounds. No complaints here!

The staff at the bar and restaurant were very pleasant, accommodating, and the food was exceptional. The friendly staff made for a delightful lunch experience. One evening, we enjoyed a meal without the children and it was so relaxing to sit by the window and people-watch.

had a lovely late lunch with friends service was fine although it was busy, mainly we had sandwiches and side orders of chips and a few drinks again nothing fantastic but service and food very pleasant and would certainly go again, would like to try a evening meal so can write a bit more.

We had dinner at the restaurant in the Bold Hotel, formerly known as Bentleys. The food was excellent and served hot. My wife enjoyed the tender and tasty rump steak, while I had the Steak and Ale pie, which was also delicious. We had a drink in the bar before our meal, which was comfortable and nicely decorated. On a very cold windy day after walking down Lord Street looking for a hot meal that did not contain pasta we saw a billboard advertising the carvery. Considering the vile weather the place was busy. We sat down waitress came took the drinks order and disappeared we did find her serving behind the barshe did did return and we both ordered the carvery at £6.95 for1 course. Good choice of 2 meats plus fresh vegetables etc.total bill came to £17.00 incl coffee and tea. Nice enjoyable experience would return a nice change from chips etc

We arranged a family lunch in July for 50 family members at Bold restaurant. The restaurant was very accommodating with all of our inquiries and changes leading up to the event. On the day of the event, the quality and presentation of the set menu far exceeded our expectations. Vince and his team made the day run seamlessly, despite the challenges of serving different people at different times due to a sick child. We chose Bold because it was where my parents dined the night before their wedding, and the exceptional service provided by Bold has remained consistent for over 40 years. Thank you to the team for making our special day even more memorable.

Sunny day . Decided to sit outside the Bold Hotel and enjoy a light lunch and a glass of wine. We sat and waited and then realised that no-one comes out to take your order . How we could possibly know that is beyond me. Although they serve your meal outside and collect your dishes . Eventually found out that you need to go to the bar and place your order .
