"Visited recently on a Tuesday evening and every table was either occupied or reserved. We were allowed to take a table that was reserved for later that evening or we could have sat at the bar. The restaurant itself is roomy, bright and clean. The...staff were friendly and accommodating. The menu is pretty varied; sushi is only a small part of what the restaurant offers. I've heard that the sushi is pretty good but decided to go instead for some of the other Japanese items on the menu. Although the gyoza and tempura were edible, they bore no relation to the gyoza or tempura you would get in a Japanese restaurant. The gyoza were deepfried and so hard in parts, that they cut my mouth. The tempura wasn't tempura.. it was furai and the sauce served with it was horrible. No idea what that was. I had considered ordering the tendon but was told by the waitress that it was made with jasmine rice so ordered a side order of sushi rice instead, expecting a bowl of Japanese rice. When it came, it was indeed sushi rice in that it was already vinegared and was cold. The restaurant has a really cool, laidback atmosphere, is popular with the student crowd, represents good value for money and is easy to reach. Don't go here for Japanese food, though, unless you plan to stick to sushi"

Requires reservation on Friday and Saturday evenings... and that's the only disadvantage! All dishes are highly recommendable. My favourite starter is the TOM YUM soup..

I was there one week ago.. I eat thailand soup and sushi California and with mango.. It has a godo presentation and so delicious, but the girl waiter should learn how to be more friendly !

The restaurant has a lot of choice, sushi as well as other asianfusion food. A good option if there is someone in a group not liking sushi or not feeling like it. The thai soup is very very delicious as well as the best friends...special sauce

This has been one of our favourite sushi places for a while. It is much better than your average sushi carousel place. However, it is often crowded and booked out on weekends. The vietnamese place next door, Nhy Star is an excellent alternative

We normally go to a nearby restaurant, but we thought lets do something different and test this place. The friendly, but overworked and understaffed staff took about to talk to us and find a table for us. The music was not really relaxing and...the food when it finally materialized was no better than average. We enjoyed the company and the staff did their best, but at the end they forgot about an order and it was decided to go to our lovely Vietnamese place next time again

This sushi place has been around in the area for quite a while now. No matter how many running sushiall you can eat places have popped up and shut down, this one is always busy. Its a classic sit down restaurant with a casual atmosphere...and a little backyard for sitting outside in the summer. You can also order takeaway no delivery. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sushi place in Bochum or surrounding cities that is on the look out for some great food and a nice meal and doesn't need that fancy ordering by ipadconcept thats becoming oh so popular. Good prices, great quality, clean restaurant, friendly service. What else would you want

"On an early Saturday evening in mid-January 2024 we spontaneously decided to go to the Leonidas in Bochum to eat Greek as we were just nearby. At 17:00 the first guests were waiting for the entrance door. Most guests apparently had reserved. The friendly Greek and forward-looking boss of the house, who received us, could then give us a good table with an overview of the large guest room. The ambience of the Leonidas is a bit very strange and needy here you do not expect a Greek restaurant. It seems that there was a brewery industry here a long time ago or something similar or what it is called. All in the 70s/80s design dressed with dark wood and wood carvings and butt slices. But no matter what, the Old Scool Design couldn't scare us off. Distinguishing can be the 151 ! positions comprehensive menu, apparently from the last century, with children and senior plates why seniors eat something different than younger guests, who decides who is a senior? The main focus of the map is meat and pommeslastig, with what the German average citizen probably associates with Greek food: Gyros , Souzouki , Souvlaki , Bifteki and so on. Rhodes Plates, Hermes Plates, Marathon Plates, Athens Plates, Cyclops and so on come from the 1980s. But what kind of a Hawaii fillet with pineapples and Gouda has to look for in a Greek restaurant??? So whoever stands on a bunch of meat with fries and beer is definitely right here. Uniquely meat and of course pommeslastig no guest had ordered the disc potatoes customary in Greece were also the plates of the other guests this evening in January 2024. No matter what we were in the Leonidas because of the food that is more suitable for domestic Greek cuisine. So we ordered Zaziki, Taramosalata fish rogen puree, Calamariakia baby calamari with garlic cream, zander fillet for my wife yes in Northern Greece comes the freshwater fish Zander before , stifado, water, white wine Imiglykos and at the end a Greek coffee and a glass of Ouzo Pilavas. The Zaziki was better and more spicy than what else you get in Greek restaurants. Here you go. Also the fish rogen puree tasted excellent, as well as the fried babycalamari, which had a beautiful thin delicate beautifully spiced pannade. The Zanderfilet with a few shrimps and vegetable strips in white wine sauce, with rice and leaf salad with honey mustard dressing tasted good to my wife. I was particularly interested in the Apo Ton Fourno dishes from the oven and here in particular the Stifado beef stew dish with small onions, as Stifado is very rare to get in Greek restaurants. The meat was tender and the small onions were still nice to bite. The Sosse could have been a little thicker. The little peasant salad was boring. The Imiglykos was without a special character; also not half-sweet without the slightly sweet note. Unfortunately, the Greek coffee, which was very weak, was also disappointing. Pros: the host asked about the degree of sweetness of coffee, just as it is common in Greece outside the tourist centers and in Germany in good Greek restaurants, since after-sales is not possible. It was pleasing that there are Ouzo Pilavas here, because the boring industry Ouzo Ouzo 12 does not drink Greeks, only the Germans fall into advertising. Conclusion: Everything in everything for us unfortunately only medium. Who, on the other hand, wants to eat a lot of meat and fries, is probably a good thing in Leonidas. If I ever go to the Leonidas in Bochum, then only to taste the typical local Greek dishes that can also be found on the map, such as Mezes Midia Florinis , Melitzanes , Spanaki , Florinis , Kalokerino , Psiti Feta also Kalamaria , Chtapódi or Sykoti , Rigan ."
