"This year everything is different. The holiday in May in the High North fell victim to the virus. My photo tours with the best friend took place, but we had lunch in the backpack. Since the beginning of July, Zaghaft also ventured back to our local tours. After Minden and Bielefeld, Cologne was on the programme last week. We came from Wuppertal with the train and we went well with the distance. Parking in the Rhine metropolis is not possible. As always, we get off in Cologne Deutz, because the skilful Sick we find most beautiful with its panoramic view of the Cathedral and the Old Town. This was formerly called Rheinpromenade now called Rheinboulevard and keep distance went very well. River up to Deutzer Bridge. It crosses and then diagonally over the hay market. In the meantime, the stomach also came to words and we controlled the Salzgasse. In the rather narrow but barely frequented Altstadtgasse the beer house was in d ́r Salzgass with large terrace and civilian prices on a large table. We entered the place and were in another world. The Gaststube urig and how to imagine a Cologne pub. Dark, but tasteful, well-kept furnishings, as you rarely find them. See best on the homepage, because that's what I can't describe. In times before the virus, the mail will have dropped here on weekends. After our eyes had become accustomed to the darkness, a basket, as the Cologne waiter says, welcomed us very friendly and accommodating. He then pointed us out to our question of the terrace the way out into the courtyard, where about 10 tables were far from the neighbors under old trees. We were left free choice and pointed out that all places were cleaned and disinfected. Would you do right after the visit. Also, the baskets wore a protective mask, which is unfortunately not the case in all locals. You can argue about it, but we see the part as a kind of appreciation before the guest. After we had made it comfortable at one of the tables, the basket came and asked loosely casually with the address yours according to our wishes. I could just stop him from bringing me a crumb. The good man apologised for the breakdown several times. But he couldn't guess I never drink alcohol. My companion got his carnage of the brewery Päffgen and I got an Afri- Cola light. I didn't feel bad about having the brand of my youth on the table again. How was that then with the lasctive advertising of Charles Wilp? Sexy mini-super- flower-pop-op-cola ... But since the company was originally from Cologne, it was suitable for me. The small, but well-designed card came to the table with the drinks. Here the dishes are served to the drinks and not the drinks to eat. A small but fine difference. In this respect, the map is also held deftly grounded to classic carolish. But also the vegetarian does not have to starve. Since one is a world city, the translation is in English. Perhaps even better to read for guests from other federal states than the tongue-breaking Cologne dialect. My companion, although born at the Wupper, but child of East Prussian parents, was not big with Platt like me and sometimes it was. We both chose heaven and earth with a lilac (potato puree, apple compote, fried onions on fried blood sausage) For 12.90 euros we got a very plentiful and tasty portion after a reasonable time. Cute and napkin in beer jug. The potato puree not made as expected from the bag, but itself. Both of us had some potato pieces. The apple compote also tastes very piecey and sweet sour. There were three thick slices of bloodworm. They are again roasted and also tasted very well with spices by the butchery. I'm not a bloodworst fan, but this time the sausage convinced me. Then crown the fried onions. Decoration was also in the form of Rucola Salat. Since the Cologne Roman ancestors have, the Italian salad matched us. We were completely tired and satisfied. A gang to the toilet went to the basement. There was the time left and everything was as in the 50s/60s. Even a cigarette machine from time. But the toilet very, very well maintained, to soap a dispenser for disinfectants. When paying the bill, the basket pointed out to us that we could also leave the restaurant via the terrace through alley. Were we really in Cologne? Yes and only a few meters away from the Rhine with its hustle and bustle. If it goes back to Kölle, you'd like to go back to the beer house. After agreement with best friend in all points full star number"

the first thing that happened to this place was the bartender. No, actually, the barrels were tilted to the bar, but the bartender was standing too.

tried the marinated horse meat with sweet-saur sauce, potato dumplings and red cabbage. I originally ordered it as a bark, but I got our narrow little waiter. .

The food was somewhat ok. The menus were on paper and were left on our table after we had ordered. We we reprimanded by an obnoxious head waiter for drawing on them... they were to be used again in spite of the corona situation. Beer...only on glasses. We won’t be back.

Another typical German brauhaus, where we stopped for dinner. We got schnitzel in pepper sauce and currywurst, both were good, and Kolsch was flowing. Service was okay, considering how busy the place was in peak time. We enjoyed our food and drinks and had a...very good time.

Bad service, picture says it all. Ordered a schnitzel and my friend a currywurst. The currywurst got served and minutes later the waiter told us the schnitzel wasn’t available anymore. Got no compensation or a apology for not getting any food. The photo was...taken just before the waiter came to tell us that my order wasn’t available.

on a recent visit to Cologne, my friend and I were searching for somewhere to have dinner before attending the football match that night. We stumbled across this place whilst checking out the area. The bar restaurant area is quite big, and typically German. The...beer was good, as was the food, and our waiter was a bit of a card. the bar is obviously very popular, as evidenced by the number of people eating and drinking. We both enjoyed the occasion, and I am absolutely certain that you would too. Well worth a visit.

Can't comment on the food as I did not eat there. Just had a few drinks with family. One waiter who didn't know I understand German commented on me to another barman. I had no interaction with him but he still managed to insult me....If you are a woman don't be surprised if you are rated. I wouldn't mind but the person was no oil painting himself. Would NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. I can see from most of the male reviews that the enjoy the ambiance and Funny waiters. Not my idea of fun. Just glad the rest of my family didn't understand him.

Located along the busy and bustling Salzgasse is Bierhaus En D'r Salzgasse ,a beer hall I always look forward to visiting on any trip into Cologne I take. I love and always have loved the interior of this beer hall, wood panelled walls, chunky wooden tables...and chairs, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and beautifully decked out for the Christmas period , and plenty of seating options spread throughout this beer hall . My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Tuesday night, this place was busy, we luckily managed to get a table were a passing Köbe deposited two Pfaffen Kölsch beers on our table and as is the norm in this part of Germany marked our beer mat...
