Bird In Hand - Menu

Called in for Seniors Menu lunch today. Food was fab. Hot and tasty. Great value. But above all the service and staff were 'ace '. Couldn 't not have a pint.

Had a great family meal here on Sunday. The carvery was delicious everyone was happy. Lovely staff and a warm place temperature and people. Highly recommend.

Went here last night and the landlord and landlady was very rude cause we was enjoying ourselves they want people just to go in order a drink sit down and say nothing won't go in again there are plenty more pubs in Stafford to enjoy yourself

In my opinion, the best pub/food combination in Stafford. It's owned by Black Country Ales, so you're guaranteed a good choice of ales (usually at least 10), but unlike a lot of their pubs this one serves food. There's plenty to good value options to...

A very good roast meat lunch, and IMHO value for money. A server carves your meat (today the choice was beef or gammon, or chicken to order) and then you help yourself to a range of vegetables, yorkshire puddiing, stuffing etc. I particularly like this...

Me and my family visited here on Easter Sunday to sample their carvery. What can I say. Absolutely amazing!!!!! I had the turkey and gammon, which there was plenty of. Lots of choice of veggies and potatoes. Everything was piping hot. Definitely the best carvery we have ever had. Even satisfying my dad, which is not easy I have been in for a drink many times but have never tried the food. That will change now. Thankyou to the bar and waiting on staff. They couldn't have done anymore to make us feel welcome and look after us. Superb

Went to this pub for a pre booked function but to be fair didn't want to go in as my niece left this place a couple of months ago due to stress.Had to wait about 10 mins to get served as staff would rather play and flirt with each,then ask to be served and told to wait but doesn't surprise me.Now I know why rom left when she was there they whipped her with beer towels and after watching the antics of the staff I can see why.But that's what you get when you employ people cash in hand 80% of the staff don't go through the books(and I know as also been told also from the pot washer)badly run public house everything to make money I wonder if the brewery or tax know !!!!!

Thought we’d give the carvery another go, hadn’t had one here since before covid but we have been in on other occasions for food/ drink. Quite a few people have been raving about the carvery so I thought let’s go as I needed to pop into town. Personally the carvery wasn’t for me, I’m pretty sure most of the veg is frozen or tinned. Fine at home but Id expect fresh when eating out and paying for it. I ordered the chicken which came out as breast butterflied, I love chicken and was bit disappointed that there was no skin/ not off a freshly cooked chicken that’s just my personal preference). I've had to edit this review because things have changed since eating there I visited this place for the first time in 20+ years. It used to be a popular place for me and my friends to visit on a night out. When my parents offered to treat me to lunch there, I jumped to it. It's a busy little pub, lots of staff. My parents ordered off their specials menu, as did I. I thought I'd go for the chicken parmigiana because its easy to do and normally full of flavour. The food came out and I was impressed by the chips which were hot but I cut into the chicken, took a mouthful, but it didn't seem right. It was almost gooey and slimey. I had a look at the chicken and it looked like it had been minced....
