A family business that tries very hard to please everyone and presents some very good well priced food. A typical old style type of French restaurant I really like. Very kind to our dog

Popped in here for an evening meal. Service was fine and we both ordered steak. It wasn't cooked as ordered but this was okay. It was the poorest quality bit of beef we'd had in a long time, more fat than meat really. Would visit again if couldn't get a table elsewhere but would avoid the steak.

We had lunch at the port bistro this noon. the ordered dishes were good but not exceptional. However, the staff is pleasant. the price of the menu: 29,90 € is high compared to the plates served. very friendly family home, attentive service, choice of relatively varied dishes can be a little too much, bistro cuisine of a copyful quality. desserts are not given. We didn't test the menus. children's dishes of quality and well served. terrace on a very passing street of the rock. a good choice among the stream of restaurants, even if the addition is a little salty at the end.

We never visit a restaurant twice on holiday. For the first time ever we went to this restaurant twice. Both times the food and service was exceptional. The waitress was attentive and communicated well. Our French is limited. She advised us well on the best...wine for me. Every meal was delicious, scallops, burger, seafood curry and camembert salad the first visit. Second visit scallops again and burger again plus a delicious steak and salmon dish. The chips are excellent too. We also enjoyed the special desert of the day, lemon meringue pie. chocolate cake and waffles. If we ever visit La Rochelle again a visit or two here would be on the agenda.

to conclude a day trip to La Romelle we have visited two pairs with three teenagers, in the evening the bistro du port. we had reserved for security reasons, which is absolutely advisable for a larger group, to two you always got a place this evening. if you want, you sit on the small rue du port and look at the gasse with a view of the tour Saint-Nicolas in the background. the map includes both seafood and fish, as well as meat dishes, so that for our tastes what was there for everyone. from crevettes to tinted fish, soup, sardines, warm goat cheese salad, lachstartar, merlu, rindersteak to tasty desserts and cheese: we have enjoyed everything and were more than satisfied with the consisten...
