"After being at Great Notley park all day we were all hungry and didn’t want something that would cost the earth. We found brewers fayre on Google maps which was a 10 minute drive away. On arrival the place was clean, fresh and welcoming. We got taken to our table quickly. Ordered and within 30 minutes were given our starters. All hot. Then asked if we want the mains prepared right away which is a nice touch. They came over promptly and were again hot. Good portions for the price we paid. We took advantage as it was before 6 the 2 mains for £10.49 and add a desert for £2.49. This made the 4 adults meals £6.49 each. Brilliant value.kids meals for 3 dishes were £5.99. Sides within the kids mains were a little small but that’s the only criticism. We were checked upon and asked if we wanted any condiments. We were then asked when finished if we were ready for deserts. Yet again a nice touch. Service was good. Unlimited drinks areas were clean. A friendly atmosphere. Play area inside and out to keep the kids entertained. It makes it a little noisy but that depends on where you sit. It is a family orientated place after all. I’m sure if you were a couple and asked to sit somewhere quieter they would be able to accommodate you. Overall it was a very good experience. Would return again it up that way."

There were four of us booked in for the Sunday Carvery. On arrival we were told that the Carvery was unavailable, no explanation given. We had to choose from the standard menu, this is not what we went there for. To make matters worse, some people were still being served by the carvery. Very poor! We won't be going there again.

Wow, we expected ok but we got fantastic! Can’t fault a thing for our entire lunch. We had Boxing Day lunch and thought well it will be fine but weren’t expecting too much. The staff were wonderful and the food was all delicious, every part was just great. Thank you so much for catering for our family on Boxing Day, we will be returning for sure. Please could the management pass on our thanks to all staff xx

Bang average, with a pinch of chaos… but that was the group I was with. On a very wet and windy evening, after a very long drive… the brewers fayre was the shining beacon that beckoned us in from the storm. Damp and soggy but full of potential, we set upon the fayre ready for battle. The food was as to be expected, delivery by friendly staff who could recommend the cheese cake highly enough… so much so it came twice (before and after the meal) We departed full of joy and burgers to our adjacent hotel (not given as shining a review)

Save yourself the trouble, this restaurant is not worth it. I booked a table assuming there would be table service, but ended up having to go to the bar and wait in line like everyone else just to order drinks. The menu was limited and they were out of the dishes I wanted to order. The tables were sticky and the service was incredibly slow. Even a local patron admitted that he only stops in because it's convenient on his way home. After witnessing another customer wait 40 minutes for their starter, I decided to leave and find another place to eat. Overall, this restaurant was a disappointment.

The Mulberry Tree is the perfect spot for a Family get-together at Christmas. 24 of us ranging from 2 months right through to doting Grandparents converged on the restaurant to be greeted by a beautifully dressed table with poppers and crackers and attentive, helpful staff. We sat adjacent to the indoor play area so the youngsters were free to go and play at whim meaning the adults could catch up in a relaxed way. Fab food and loads of it.. and the endlessly refillable drinks are an economic way to keep the family satisfied. We had a relaxed and very affordable, friendly afternoon... Perfect! What a wonderful start to the Festive season... Well done Sam and staff.

Asked for a table near the soft play for my 3 yr olds birthday, was told fully booked on entry. 1 table occupied out of 11/12 tables and when they left and it was cleared the rest stayed empty. I spent most of my time watching my daughter sitting at the empty tables that were ‘fully booked’. This was quite clearly just so the team didn’t have to walk as far and they could keep areas clean. I don’t get to see the family I was meant to spend some time with as they don’t live local, I spent all my time at an empty table we could have sat at as a family! The food was ok but the check back was late, we had all practically finished our mains. It all felt like the team were uninterested in customer...

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."

"What can I say….We held our wedding dinner and impromptu party ! on the mezzanine floor and had the time of our lives with our nearest and dearest. It’s been a pretty special place for us as we dined at the House by Hilly Gant to check the area out before moving from London and so as we were having a small wedding of 22 people we felt this was the best place to have our wedding. Suzanne and the team could not have done anything more to make our afternoon and evening so perfect. The food was outstanding and our guests were very impressed Harry and his cocktail making skills are second to none. Huge shout out to all the kitchen staff who’s attention to detail and timings were spot on. Leading up to the day itself Suzanne took charge and offered her expert advice on how to dress the room and made so much effort with our requirements. 3 children and 1 baby as part of the guest list! . The beef in particular was spectacular and the chocolate fondant was sublime. We honestly didn’t want to leave. After dinner Suzanne was able to crank the music up and we had a little party ensuring all the guests downstairs were still well looked after our friends were actually dining downstairs and were able to join us towards the latter part of the evening! From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much to everyone for making it so special for us. I’m not surprised that you were recently awarded your second rosette, totally deserved. For anyone looking for quality food, locally sourced, and beautifully executed this is the place to come. SEE YOU SOON and thank you again x"
