I like it. Food is delicious, service friendly, super location and plenty of space outside in the sun! Always like to come.

The Cafe Central has recently revamped its menu and now offers a range of sophicated choices along with a good wine choice. The outdoor sitting area is a real plus during the summer months especially as it is now adorned with large leafy palm plants!

I've visited this cafe several times with business associates. Each time it provided a pleasant backdrop for our meetings. With a nice array of beverages and food, it's quite easy to find something appropriate to sip or nibble on.The service is friendly and attentive, without being pushy.I appreciate their selection of "bio" products and plan to try their weekend breakfast buffet soon.This place is definitely on my go-to list!

Stayed at the attached Hotel Chelsea so had several breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner here.Breakfasts were quite adequate, nothing fancy, but ample, fresh and tasty. Croissants were a big hit with my associates.Lunch is best taken outside on the plaza if weather permits. Blankets are available for diners if you get cold. I had the lunch special which was a massive chopped beef patty (not really a hamburger, large- about 3cm by 10 cm) with potato salad. Delicious, inexpensive and large. Dinner was just a cheese plate with some beer but the quantity was good and the cheeses were fresh.

Cafe Central is in a very central area, but it feels more like a residential area. Just at the end of Händelstr. and supermarket opposite it's not a typical place for tourists. The café is part of a hotel and serves breakfast,lunch and dinner. I have been there for breakfast. You have the choice of a buffet or set breakfasts. The buffet costs 15€ (until 11am; Sun until 1pm) and the sets are available 4.90€ - 15.90€ (Until 2pm; Sun until 3pm). I chose the "Künstlerfrühstück" which consist of 1 roll, 1 slice of full grain bread, ham, salami, turkey cold cut, pickled cucumber and butter. When we travel, we like to go where the locals go. In Cologne, which is a huge city, we had more trouble than we usually do in finding the local spots, which were certainly not identified in our guidebook! We ultimately ended up in what we now know is called the "Belgian Quarter", where many of the streets are named after Belgian towns. We found a good number of appealing restaurants on nearby Juelicher Strasse and Aachener Strasse, and on warm nights the restaurants around Bruesseler Platz set up seating all in the square in front of the church and are packed all night long.
