"After a long drive, we arrived in the very pretty and VERY quiet Gensac, we were a bit early to check-in to our house that would be home for the next week, and we were hungry so we decided to eat there. First impressions, well a lovely awning out the front and tables some in our party were not sure, but sooooo glad we did commit. We were given the table overlooking the wonderful and picturesque valley, and given we arrived in a canicule/heatwave, it was surprisingly comfortable. The owner was local and spot on, we have a couple of sliced duck fume salads with everything from walnuts to yum lettuce, others had the amazing mixed plat with local cheese and salami (voted the best meal by a smidge , and to top it off PISTACHE ice cream (we had searched and asked this many times and here it was! . The only one regret was we were unable to return here in our week, the heatwave had caused issues and this wonderful restaurant was closed for a while."

Other customers and friendly service. It's not a big kitchen, but it's a copious one. We eat well. The waitress was very nice

Lovely casual place for fish and chips on Fridays. Very friendly owner who has created a lovely atmosphere. Very good value for money too.

We have visited this small bar several times before, the proprietor is very friendly, and when they are open lunch times can be very busy. They are also open in the evening. There seem to be less and less of these family run bars in France these days. However this one is very good, we have had drinks, coffee, and meals from time to time here, and enjoyed them. The food is good honest country cooking and a good choice, especially on Friday with this last week moules and chips and indeed fish and chips all being enjoyed by the locals.
