"First visit to Caraffini for several years. Not much has changed. The food is traditional Italian fare and perfectly well executed if a little lacking inspiration. Starters of crab salad and linguine with claims, mains of calves liver and pannacotta and chocolate fondant for dessert....Atmosphere is subdued. What is really odd about this restaurant now is that all the waiters, the chef and the kitchen staff are Portuguese, not Italian. The waiters have learnt to say mille grazie over and over again which just makes them seem a little bit ridiculous. As a result, the whole experience seems a little odd. Can an Italian restaurant be Italian in these circumstances. Not for me. I won't be back, especially when the prices are taken into account. Two cocktails, food, glasses of house wine and coffee"

Always enjoy eating at Caraffini. Great Italian food, wonderful atmosphere and professional service. The restaurant was busy but the staff didn’t rush us. Highly recommend.

Had my bag stolen from next to my chair by two men. Apparently they came in and sat down for a few minutes but left claiming the restaurant didn’t have what they wanted on the menu. Staff didn’t seem to care and no cctv.

we visited here for the first time in this week, on recommendation of a friend. the selection of menu, service and quality were all excellent. good atmosphere during a busy service. only care was that at the day we visited, no outside seats and tables were very close together.

the people in the london hospitality trade will tell them that it is impossible to find a chef at the moment. in my opinion, caraffini should swallow her proudly and simply fall an old favorite from her extensive and traditional menu if her chefs cannot serve. it in an edible form.

An amazing meal at Caraffini with the most attentive waiters- this really made the evening. The food was faultless and traditional Italian. Nothing was a problem- from customising cocktails and bringing additional bread and adapting the pasta dish. Lovely environment. Definitely on the favourites list....Ordered starters, mains and desserts. The manager was also very friendly and attentive!!

When the maitre d’ opens the door seconds before you reach it you know you’re in safe hands. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here on a short city break based solely on trip reviews. Pretty much the classic Italian standard formula on the menu...but well presented and prepared to a high standard. What stands out is the friendly service, professional but never obsequious. We enjoy dining in a variety of restaurants but there’s always room for a business that knows it’s audience and caters to them very well.
