"Myself and my daughter went here in the afternoon for a cocktail and ended up reserving a table for that evening. The decor is very Scottish looking (lots of tartan), the staff are really friendly and know their stuff. Ask them anything about the food...and drink menu and they will answer it. The bar area is comfy. There are no plastic chairs here but plush sofas and a chaise lounge to sit on. You can order your meal from there and when your food is nearly ready, they invite you to sit at your table which is in the next room. We had a lovely young lady called Hannah serving us. I have a restrictive diet and they were able to accommodate me. I had a rib eyed steak with chips, mushroom and tomatoes and gluten free onion rings. Didn't have a dessert but there's always next time! We both really enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back. They have a pianist playing who also sings and she was quite good. You do need to book a table for a Saturday night. This place is most definitely NOT Wetherspoons."

Fantastic customer service, and the food was incredible! The bartender seemed to know every cocktail known to man, and at the end of the night the staff were more than happy to take photos on our phones for us. Definitely going back!

We came to this restaurant in Plymouth to celebrate our friends' birthday on our first night in town. It was truly an amazing experience! The 1920s theme, the delicious food, and the great atmosphere made for an unforgettable night. Huge thanks to the entire team for making it special!

The company announced today on its website and social media that the restaurant on the top floor and the chip shop on the street level have closed immediately, citing reasons of sensitivity to the current circumstances. We have enjoyed meals from both locations in the past and have always been impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the staff. Visualizza piatti

I came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment you walk up the stairs, you can tell it's something special. The food is incredible, the waitresses are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is charmingly decorated with a 50's vibe. There's even a swing jazz singer to entertain you while you enjoy your meal and drinks. I haven't seen any other restaurant in Plymouth as beautiful as Charlie Frank's. I highly recommend this restaurant. I almost wish there were no windows so you could forget you're still in Plymouth.

My first visit to Charlie Franks was this Saturday. There were 8 of us and I have to say we had an amazing night. The drink menu and selection of gins and cocktails were fantastic. The food was delicious, the decor beautiful, the entertainment fabulous, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress, I believe her name was Laura, was one of the best we've ever had, a true asset to the restaurant. Despite us being a loud group, the staff handled us wonderfully. I highly recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be returning.

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
