"The evening started with a friendly, warm welcome. We were struggling to find a decent restaurant in the area and were recommended the Corner House. We had simple requirements, firstly when we book a table we expect it to be a table for the evening, there is no quality in dining in an establishment with two sittings. We never felt rushed. Secondly I like the service and the quality of foods to appear effortless, which it did. Clearly a tremendous amount of effort went into every detail from the foods, side salad, homemade sauces and deserts. Attention to detail was obvious and the service was perfect, just the correct amount of contact from the enthusiastic staff without being intrusive or overbearing. Thirdly I rate a restaurant on whether or not I could replicate the meal better, similarly or not at all. On this occasion my extra blue rib eye was one of the finest steaks I’ve ever eaten and I grew up in French fine dining. The homemade bread platter, starter, mains, deserts, coffee were all perfect. The visit was mid week and the restaurant was fairly busy. The atmosphere, ambience and surroundings enhanced a great meal. Most restaurants in the area (apart from The Marquis in Alkham Valley) are very mediocre, tedious, churning out the latest fads and boring, this wasn’t. We will definitely visit again, the staff were attentive, kind and warm."

We always try to visit when staying in the area, been numerous times now. The food is excellent, good choice of wines, highly recommend anyone to pay a visit.

Loved this place! The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating and the food was delicious across the board with some different but well executed elements. It's a real shame the Mister venue is closing, I would absolutely have been back!

"Having visited Secret Spices on a few occasions now, I find myself finding an excuse to travel all the way from Dover, to Margate just to indulge in their delicious, great value food! Upon each visit, the restaurant has not been particularly busy perhaps this is helped by me visiting during the week, rather than on the busier days such as Fridays and Saturdays. The food however has always been absolutely top notch. I've had Indian cuisine from restaurants and takeaways from around the world and I truly believe that the quality and flavour produced at this outlet really does surpass many others that I have tried, certainly, the best I have had here in the UK. The restaurant setting is classy and easy on the eye, the seating a little worn, but very comfortable, the service very attentive, the food DELICIOUS. "If you like your food fresh, local and sustainable then Angela’s is for you. Cooked to perfection and without fuss, the Ray Wing and Hake dishes we chose were beautiful. We ate at Rocksalt and were underwhelmed, but Angela’s exceeded our expectations. You can’t beat simple, fresh ingredients prepared sympathetically and served without over embellishment. "I was warmly welcomed by the lovely Grace, who engaged me in delightful conversation about good food and global cuisines while serving a piping hot burger that stayed perfectly warm. The patties had that ideal crispy edge while maintaining a juicy flavor, layered with bacon, gooey golden cheese, red onion jam, and garlic aioli. The bun held everything together flawlessly, minimizing any slippage to ensure each bite was a glorious experience, complete with ample sauce for a wonderfully indulgent treat. The Cajun fries were crunchy, hot, and seasoned to perfection, and the black garlic mayo was absolutely a standout—be sure to try some of their sauces too! It was heartwarming to hear owner Steve and Grace discuss their shifts; it’s clear that Steve genuinely cares about his team, which reflects in their passion for creating excellent, indulgent food. I can’t wait to explore more of the menu and share this gem with other food lovers who appreciate a true winner. Thank you for turning my Monday around—now I can’t help but want to come back any day of the week!"

"The entire visit was a delight; the care taken by every member of staff to attend to every need and their faultless politeness was charming. The food was copious and extremely tasty and the drinks excellent. We were seated at a very comfortable spacious table near the window and left to take as long as we wished. The cost of the meal was much more realistic than we have encountered in many other places."

"our oldest daughter had eaten here before and enjoyed eating. modern european with a Caribbean swirl is a good overall description of the menu and the aromen and ingredients of the dishes I ordered, certainly boring. the salt fish and akee starters were light, tender and pretty with a good amount of taste. followed the spicy bark with garlic and broccoli strands. there was in my view exactly the right amount of heat that tasted the palette antique and the flesh in the mouth in a wonderful sauce. the maische was well made, but I would personally welcome more garlic and the broccoli was cooked directly with a small amount of bite. a large selection of dressed, my wife enjoyed the same main before the suppe of the day, flower cauliflower and kumin, that was silky smooth and lightly seasoned and my daughter did not lack for food, though vegan. after their appetizer the curtain followed a herbal curry with the same garlic mash instead of the rice. both set menus that are good for 2/3 dishes, and al a carter are available along with a good selection of wines and cocktails. I loved the ambiente, comfortable chairs, reasonable but inconspicuous music and attentive staff. we will come back when we visit margate."
