"We popped in today for a quick lunch with our two dogs who were welcomed with fresh water and a treat each. Good start. Struggled to choose what to eat as it all sounded so good and we weren’t disappointed, these were the best toasted...sandwiches we have ever had. They were served with salad and tortilla crisps. The sandwiches were made with a seeded batch bread and were full with warm gooey cheese and I had caramelised onion pickle too. So so good. The Staff are lovely and it was not a surprise that the place quickly filled. A hidden gem I’d say but well worth finding. Definitely popping back when we are next passing this way."

We came across the Courtyard quite by chance and were enchanted by it's loevly yet small seating area. Being a nice day we sat outside and were quickly serviced by a delightfully friendly lady who produced our toasties within minutes- which were delicious yet reasonably...priced- oh and the coffee was lovely too!

This restaurant is simply fantastic. It is a charming café/bistro operated by incredibly kind people. The food is exquisite. I have visited multiple times and have always enjoyed the jacket potato with cheese, bacon, and salad - it is truly delicious. I highly recommend this place. The cakes look irresistible! Thank you for providing such an amazing experience.

I came for lunch today on a rainy and windy day and noticed the A-frame sign on the sidewalk. The restaurant itself is charming with outdoor seating. Inside, it is cozy and inviting. The menu offers a variety of options at a good value, including many homemade dishes. The decor is lovely and the staff were friendly. The food was delicious, I will definitely be coming back again.

The Courtyard Teestuben is a unique and delightful place to dine. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere in the teestuben is cozy and inviting. They have created something truly special here. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious and fresh. Located in Oswestry, this establishment truly deserves to succeed and be supported. I visit every week and the quality is always consistent. I highly recommend it.

Called into this coffee shop and was greeted by a lovely, friendly young lady. Very smiley and bubbly. We ordered tea and my husband had a piece of cake. Sadly the cake was very dry and he was unable to eat it. We are not...ones for complaining but whilst drinking our tea we're shocked to see a lady appear from behind the counter where the drinks are made and in the very near vicinity of their food prep area with a dog!. Now I appreciate the cafe is advertised as dog friendly but wasn't prepared for one to appear from behind the counter. My husband and I quickly paid and left. Sadly we won't be visiting again.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity.
