"A very cold welcome and as at the factory, we arrived in the rush with a reservation made a few days before and yet we found ourselves in line for us to be put. A huge place, unfortunately noisy what goes with the surface of the restaurant. The ordering was expedient, we had to put the table ourselves (the glasses, cutlery and towels were simply left on the table without any dressage). We took a bottle of wine, but no one made us taste (there were no wine glasses brought before or at the same time as the bottle). The portions and dressings are ridiculous with no effort for a steak or sausage simply laid in the middle of the plate. The dish is not home with surely puree in flakes what is a shame. We are very disappointed and will not come back, we do not recommend for those looking for a real warm place like Laguiole."

Very good restaurant, we eat very well. The interior is a pleasant surprise, we did not consider the place so large and so beautiful.

Simple service for a comfortable room. But the whole is pretty good, with a very good country restoration. Friendly staff. Location in the heart of perfect Laguiole.

The food was delicious (filet was great but the service wasn’t particularly good. The restaurant opened at 7.30pm which meant that everyone ordered at the same time so the staff were constantly running around. There were only three or four waiting staff, including someone behind the bar for a full (and relatively large! restaurant.

We were generally disappointed. The restaurant is well placed in the center of the city with parking nearby. The menu is complete and typical of the corner. On the other hand, it is a little factory. The service is the chain. Servers seem to be very busy and do not take time with customers. I was disappointed by the food that came warm and didn’t seem to be home. In short, a passable address given the price.

"Our daughter took us to the Le Suquet by Bras restaurant as a treat to celebrate our joint 60th birthday. I'd never been to a 3-start Michelin restaurant before and certainly not one where the chef has recently been awarded the No.1 chef in the world for 2016. I understand that stars are awarded not only on the food, although this is of course a huge consideration, but also on the venue and the service offered. On the food front we went for the Balade menu at the princely sum of EUR 220, not cheap but you're only 60 once. The food was indeed excellent overall but I felt that, for me, the two deserts were the weaker part of the whole journey through nine courses and artistic splendour. The Salad, Foie Gras, Turbot and Beef were the highlights, the salad offering tastes and textures that I wouldn't have thought possible in a humble leaf salad. Hats off to the inventor of that course. Sometimes food presented so artistically can be a case of style over substance but at Le Suquet that is most definitely not the case. The venue was stunning, a beautiful modernist building overlooking the Aubrac with the sun setting as we started our meal. It's very chic, smart and comfortable and although very modern blends in beautifully with the surroundings. We were taken into the kitchen to meet Sebastien Bras and were impressed with the slick operation in evidence. Now for the service. Whilst the table service was very good, mainly from two very attentive and charming waitresses, the same was not true in all areas hence my average rating. Our daughter had arranged for a bottle of pink champagne to be at our table when we arrived for aperos...this was not in evidence and never mentioned by anyone. A boiled egg and soldiers (I kid you not) was served with aperos for other customers but we were forgotten for some reason..only when we were being shown to our table and I mentioned that we hadn't had this did the bring it up. Also, our daughter had arranged for someone to take us back to our hotel in Laguiole when we had finished our meal. We were told that this was going to cost 10-15 Euros. Only when we were leaving did we realise that they had booked a taxi from a distant village which cost us 50 Euros plus extra for the time that she was waiting for us, This was poor service as they had failed to mention that they would have to use a taxi and never told us that the driver was there and waiting for us for twenty minutes or more. When you visit a 3-Michelin star restaurant you expect something really very special. Whilst food and venue delivered in spades the service was a bit of a let down. As a comparison we visited Restaurant Serge Vieira in Chaudes Aigues a few weeks ago which, although only 2-star and considerably less expensive, offered excellent service at all levels of the experience."

"We stopped in Laguiole on our way home from Spain. Beautiful scenery in this rough mountain area (Aubrac) on about 1000m over sea level - in earlier times feared by the pilgrims on St. Jacob's path (so cold, windy and dangerous, when on foot). In this rough mountain area we found tasty food at the restaurant de l'Aubrac. The place is unpretentious, but it is filled with the friendliness and enthusiasm of the lady manager and her staff. They proudly explained their regional food to us. It is food for farmers that work in the mountains, and their wives know, how to prepare tasty meals from the products that their robust golden brown cows deliver: milk (for cheese, AOC) and meat. I had Boeuf (beef) Bourguignon that had simmered in red wine and gentiane, tastily spiced with herbs, accompanied by Aligot which is mashed potatoes blended with cheese. With this I took a wine from Marcillac (some 50km south) - a good match with the food (ask for local wine from a bit south of Laguiole). And then we had a selection of cheese from Laguiole (an Appélation Controlée) and Roquefort (from the mountains not far from here). This was not highly classified French cuisine, but authentic tasty food well prepared - very well prepared - for a good price. We also slept in this two star hotel. For two stars well worth it, with excellent beds, a very modern, newly renovated bath room and a nice detail: The key is a cow made out of heavy iron. Some more background information: I became curious and read about the Aubrac. The mountains are rough here, but the people have some high quality products to offer. Their Vache d'Aubrac (cow of the Aubrac) lives on the meadows with its local herbs. It is a tough race that delivers meat and milk. From the milk, Laguiole makes cheese that is a regional registered brand called AOC. Also the meat tastes different, when cows live outside and eat herbs. Then Laguiole is well known for the Laguiole knives - highest quality foldable knives and also designs made for eating. I could not resist and bought a foldable knife with a handle made from cow horn (these knives have a price, though).Yes, Laguiole is well worth a stop and the restaurant de l'Aubrac was a trouvaille."
