"We wandered into the Domhof beer garden after having strolled through the Old Town of Speyer. It was an uncharacteristically hot afternoon giving way to a warm evening, so we appreciated the shade. Most of the outdoor seating is at large tables, and we shared our table with two groups of locals, easily striking up conversations. One of our table mates said he knew we were tourists because "only the tourists order the full liters of beer." He had nothing against consuming a liter of beer on a hot day, but he correctly pointed out that, by the time you finish your liter, the beer will be quite warm. He was correct, but the beer was excellent nonetheless. Service was efficient, although we may have slowed it down a bit by learning the background of our Canadian server. Clearly we loved the feel of the place, but the food was fine as well. Because it was so hot and because we were just getting our bearings in Germany, we opted for light food rather than the more traditional German dishes. My wife had a lovely dinner salad, and I had the grilled shrimp. We did have to have a pretzel to top off our first meal in Germany. This is definitely the place to go in Speyer."

Located next to the Kaiserdom, this brewery/restaurant really is worth a visit. Their beer is lovely and not expensive Euro 3.90 (0.5ltr) and the food is great too (taste, portions). We had a meal for 2 (mains, dessert, drinks for less than Euro 50). Being a brewery too, it has great atmosphere as everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

two evenings in this restaurant. the first in May 2017 in the restaurant and the second in May 2017 in the beer garden. both evenings were pleasant with helpful staff. the beer garden is more pleasant on sunny evenings. locals who are good with appropriate portions. crisp will probably not have enough. the prices are standard compared to the local competition.

on a summer Saturday we found the shaded beer garden happy, full and uncomplicated. the nice services showed themselves in no way overwhelmed in spite of the strong business and the colorfully mixed public came together to the full tables. my calfs curry sausages with self-made tomato sauce were excellent, but the mixed salad was infallless and the weinschorle thin.

after a big bike tour we were accordingly thirsty and hungry. Despite the fact that the beer garden was full, we were served very quickly and very friendly. really great! Our food was also good and rich - always important when you have exhausted :)-so join the pre-evaluators: a class beer garden with typically good bourgeois cows! once we are back in speyer, we go there again.

after a summer bike tour, the ideal local for a refreshing beer and a small strengthening in the beautiful beer garden behind the restaurant. whether bright or dark, the beer of the house brewery domhof is sinful. a classic dish from the pfalz or a sausage salad according to the type of house with fresh bauernbrot or baked corsian cheese. the prices for this in each case around the 10,00 euro, the service friendly. and: on request you get a salt or pepper mill to the table.

who is looking for a beautiful beer garden with typical beer garden or guest house kitchen in the best sense good-bourgeois, who comes here fully at his expense. to make it is that the speiscard is different in the beer garden and host house and some foods are only available in the host house. in my case, that meant that after initially nice place in the beer garden the move to the pub was necessary to be able to eat there where I was happy. something complicated and also in the thing not quite understandable. well, unfortunately, this is only clear when you have already taken a place in the beer garden. from the staff there were no complaints, all were friendly and helpful. the quality of t...

"Mr The Anh Nguyen, the owner and also the chef of Le Cyclo, interprets a few traditional Vietnamese dishes using seasonal ingredients, fresh herbs, spices and aromatics. All his creations are served with French elegance. We were a big group of 18 people, so we made reservations in advance and requested several traditional Vietnamese dishes not featured on the standard menu. When people think of Vietnamese cuisine, what comes to mind is “Goi Cuôn” - fresh summer rolls that are ubiquitous in Vietnam. So it makes sense that our dinner starts off with them. Another popular appetizer is “Bò lá lôt” - lightly spiced minced beef rolls wrapped with wild betel leaves and grilled to perfection. “Banh khot” are quintessential appetizers - mini pancakes made with rice flour, minced shrimps and spring onions, golden, crispy and savory. “Chao Tôm” is a traditional appetizer where seasoned shrimp paste is moulded around a sugarcane skewer. Our main dishes are typical home-cooked dishes shared family-style, served with white jasmine rice. We had tasty “Bap Cai Cuôn thit ga-tom Hap Nước Mắm Gung”, which was basically steamed chicken-and-prawn roulade in a fresh ginger-Nước Mắm sauce; “Cá Kho Tô” - considered as comfort food by many Vietnamese, the fish develops a sweet-savory gooeyness from the sugar and fish sauce over the course of a long braise; simple but tasty chicken omelette; and “Rau Muong” stir-fried with garlic - a staple green veggie in Vietnam (if Vietnam declared a national vegetable, it’d probably be this).Due to its colorful history marked with several occupations, colonization period and foreign influence, Vietnam is a real melting pot of various culinary traditions. From a complicated Chinese to a delicate Japanese, a bit over-spiced Thai, highly distinctive Cambodian, beautiful Indian and super gastronomic French - we are happy to report our tastebuds went on a delicious culinary adventure to Le Cyclo!"
