"Only went to the restaurant for a Sunday roast. The food was nice but the portions were a little small. What ruined it was the service. We had booked a table for 8 people but was given a table that would only just fit 6 people on it. There were a few spare tables so we asked if one could be added to ours or if there was a bigger table somewhere else and was told quite rudely that we aren't allowed to add a table or even another chair to our table. Once we had ordered food no one then came and checked on us for drinks and we had to go up and ask for the bill ourselves"

"This pub is absolutely fantastic. We decided to drop in for a quick lunch and were blown away by the quality of the food. My husband ordered the 1-foot long baguette stuffed with beef and onions, and it was filled to the brim with delicious flavors. I tried the homemade pie, which was incredible, and even my simple ham sandwich was anything but ordinary. All the dishes were reasonably priced and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this pub for its cozy atmosphere and charm that is often missing in village pubs."

"Decided to come here for breakfast on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy so we were able to get a table. There was only 2 members of staff on the front of house. They came over and took our drinks order which took a good 5+ minutes to get a cup of tea and some water. We then ordered some food which arrived quite timely and was tasty. There wasn't any napkins available so we had go ask for some of them. I also went to the toilet whilst I was here and the toilet was not great at all. It really smelled and was quite filthy, especially the radiator. It did not feel very sanitary at all and only 1 was working and the other was out of order. I would come back and try their cocktails in the evening as I've heard good things about this. The food was ok we had a pleasant time"

"Absolutely loved the meal tonight at the new Royal Oak! Such a beautiful little pub! Food cooked to perfection, loved the layered chicken staff were very welcoming, and polite, the new owners made us feel very welcome, Everything was clean, couldn't pick any faults if I tried! Thank you to Shane Ynwa Kilgour for the best food I've tasted in a while! Would recommend everyone to come and try it out????"

"Myself and my wife went for the first time this evening for Valentines and arrived at around 20.10. The first thing that we noticed was how cold the place was and were moved to another table where it was just as cold. Many people were...sat eating their meal with coats on. We were finally asked to order at about 20.40. By 21.35 our starter still not had arrived. I then went to cancel the meal and was told that te starter was just in the oven and so I confirmed the cancellation. I was then charged for the drinks that we had but was charged for 2 large wines when my wife had only had medium. We asked to speak to the manager and was told he was too busy and therefore had to leave our number for a call back. Evening ruined, we left. The manager later called and basically just offered a free bottle of wine without understanding the real problems and making no attempt to say how they would rectify the service and the temperature for future. At this point we stated that it was pointless offering free wine when we would not go back anyway. He then turned sarcastic and rang off. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE EATING YOUR MEAL, BE SERVED IN A DECENT TIMESCALE AND HAVE MANAGEMENT WHIO UNDERSTAND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE."
