"My wife and I went here for our anniversary on Sunday. We were after a carvery sunday roast and were helpfully warned that these do run out by the time we had booked often (6pm). They then did make the effort to call us when this happened in case this impacted our decision to attend (it didn't), which was appreciated. We arrived to find attentive service as well as delicious and timely food (even when we made a small alteration to a dish). When Ego first took over we were put off by the price but upon returning this seems to have been lowered and is now definitely value for money. We will absolutely return."

Absolutely delightful dining experience; we will definitely come back. The club idea is also fantastic. They offer great certificates for birthdays and anniversaries.

In this restaurant, the decor is impressive, and the service from the staff is absolutely outstanding—they go above and beyond! The food is consistently excellent every time I visit. I would highly recommend it!

Elle served us and she was lovely, really polite attentive helpful and professional. The food was lovely and really good value. Nice modern clean venue with good facilities. Attention paid to our disability and we felt welcome. We will be back.

I visited this restaurant with two friends last week, and we enjoyed a three-course meal that was fantastic! The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable, and the staff was incredibly helpful. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

What we received was quite disappointing: just three green beans, two roasted potatoes, two slices of tough beef that were hard to chew, a parsnip that looked worse for wear, some vinegar-soaked red cabbage, and lumpy gravy—all for a hefty £55, which included two drinks. The interior of the restaurant is nice, but unfortunately, that’s the only positive aspect. I won't be returning.

I visited a birthday meal here. the ordered meal times in advance. originally thought the prices were quite expensive, but the meal times were exceptional and definitiw the cost worth. the Moroccan lamb was authentic and looked as good as it tasted. there were a few in our party and we all had something else, but all the meals came at the same time and all looked very appetit. there is a good busy atmosphere and the staff is courteous and attentive.

"The harvester has ruined Christmas 2023. We were positioned right outside a toilet and had everyone brushing past us while trying to eat. We were also next to a large family that let their children run SEMI NAKED around the table. The heating was off and it was freezing. The starters were cold soup or frozen microwaved brie. Mains consisted of cold veg which is quite impressive considering they had been overcooked to the point they were practically mush, paired with meat which had the consistency of leather soaked in brown water that was supposedly gravy Puddings were a choice of the smallest peice of Christmas cake soaked in lumpy custard or 3 profiteroles. Credit where its due, the floor staff were exceptional. Only to be let down by the manager, Neil prior, with his fake accent, who apparently couldn't process a refund despite claiming to be the owner. I have had to leave without any form of refund only an email. I have never heard such rubbish of a manager unable to process a refund. I will never visit this establishment again and would urge others not to. £280 to ruin Christmas. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS IN RESPONSE TO NEILS REPLY 26/12: The room was freezing, even staff commented that the heating was off and should've been on. We saw many surrounding tables with full plates being collected by staff. I understand that it is Neil's responsibility to protect the business' reputation but lying is not the way to do it. Still waiting on a refund and will update as this continues UPDATE 27/12 After raising a formal complaint with harvester, I received an email yesterday evening advising I'd be called by an area manager today this has not happened and harvester continue to spoil the holidays and I've also noticed the few false reviews that have popped up since this review Update 28/12 Spoke to Jennifer who processed my refund and was absolutely lovely, when I went to collect it though I could see neil skulking about in the background still looking scruffy. Overall I still rate it a 1 star experience based on the food but I will say that apart from Neil, the staff at the winding wheel castleford are all brilliant EDIT 28/12 Just received a threatening phone call from Neil on my personal mobile. This is completely unacceptable Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1"

"I’m really sorry to have to write this review, as we’ve been to Bake My Day approx in excess of 20 times in the past. We often come with friends and all of us feel the same and agree with comments below. Food is of good quality, although portion sizes vary I ordered avocado on toast and paid £2.50 for extra bacon; it came with 1 slice of bacon which is disappointing. they can’t accommodate children. I asked for 1 2 scrambled eggs and beans for our 18 month old and was told everything is pre packaged into adult portions therefore I’d have to order from the adult menu. I can’t understand why it’s too much trouble to cook 2 scrambled eggs and put some beans in a pan. Also, is it really that fresh if everything is pre made??? staff are very hit and miss. Sometimes friendly but often a bit stand off ish. We often don’t feel that welcome (plenty of other reviews also mention this). food timings. Food often comes late and we rarely eat together. We ordered 4 breakfasts (5 including the child’s) and there was 25 mins between the first and last arriving. finally the cost. We often get a cake/flapjack to take away and the bill is always around the £50 mark. I don’t mind paying for good food but when I pay £50 for 2 people and a child to have breakfast I expect exceptional service. We pay approx £90 100 between the 4 of us and this price is similar to 5* and Michelin establishments in Leeds and York such as The Ivy and The Star In The City. Unfortunately the 4 of us have decided that this is the last straw for us which is disappointing as we like to support small local businesses. If it’s too much trouble to make some scrambled eggs and beans for my daughter, and if it’s too hard to ensure all 4 breakfasts come out at the same time, and if it’s too hard to be welcoming to customers, especially when I’m paying £50 for breakfast, then I’ll take my custom elsewhere."
