"Great little restaurant in the heart of Girona. 20 stools Seating is diner style.Large portions of steak and fries at insanely cheap prices. Model thin women chowing down on enormous portions of short ribs and fries. Always packed by 10pm with locals and visitors alike. Nice selection of local and Argentinian wines, beer Estrella Damm and assorted soft drinks. Languages spoken Spanish, Catalan, English and Russian...maybe more !!! Prepared salads as an option to fries with oil and vinegar on the side made with Arugula, Friese, tomatoes and sweet onions. No chicken on the menu anymore as the massive rotisserie oven has finally died. Another option is the veal or empanadas with meat or vegetarian. These are hand made daily and heated in the microwave. The steaks are grilled to perfection and served with a scrumtious home made Chimichurra on the side. You can watch them prepare your meal in the open kitchen. Background music can range from Django Rheinhart to Amy Winehouse. This local eatery has no shortage of laughter and loud converstaions. Sixty nine year old Chef Eduardo Raphael Portesio is a master of the grille and quite the charactor. Along with Eduardo is his female staff Ayelen and Viktoria, they are fluent in at least 4 languages or you can always point to the menu. This is Girona 's version of Cheers where you are greated with a friendly smile or if you 've been there more than once, a big bear hug. You can eat in or order take out. Grab a seat and order a glass of the house wine at a very reasonable 1.50 Euros. El Carrito is open for lunch from 12 2pm and dinner from 8pm til Midnight. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays."

super pleasant and authentic place. has emadillas, cuts of Argentine meat, milanesa among other dishes. They treated us with affection, it was like being at home with a relative.

This is an awesome place for cyclists visiting Girona. The portions are generous, the prices are great, the empanadas are good, and the skirt stake so good that I even ate the bones (my tour companion was shocked! . It's not the place to take your small kids and your wife who eats like a bird, but it's a great place for hungry cyclists who need to feed their bodies for continous cycling. Highly recommended! And yes, they were shocked that we asked for desert after eating as much as we did.

We went 5 people to eat spicy criolella empanadas and are very good, I recommend them 100%. is eaten in bar or to carry. service: the attention of the woman who attended us was lousy, without desire. It serves us the drinks and leaves them for us to distribute it to us, glasses without ice or lemon, the stick of can, they don't have beer of barrel give you to choose from those that have in can. When they bring us the empanadas, they don't give us plates or covered for the potatoes. Basin: it was the wet floor and below the paper-filled chop.
