Very easy way to take someone for a meal,or indeed a cooked dinner, nice staff, very pleasant and helpful

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The home-cooked food is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful. They have a large menu with a wide variety of options to choose from.

Now half the size it used to be, the Fireside Lounge is still one of the friendliest and cosiest cafes in Bargoed. Plenty of choice of food and drinks, and the service is always cheerful and prompt. I stumbled upon this cafe in an unfamiliar area and was pleasantly surprised to find one of the best cafes around. The portion sizes exceeded our expectations and the food was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and greeted us with smiles, unlike the bland and apathetic attitude often found in other cafes. The layout of the cafe was also very inviting.

I have been coming here for many years and used to enjoy food and coffee, but I especially liked the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the staff but since under the new direction of the atmosphere it has gone downhill at a very fast rate. The girls who work there are lovely, but it is very clear that they do not encourage to speak to the customers because of the manifest seems to receive outside the new owners if they do not stop talking. More than once when I have been there I have witnessed the girls who called the clients away from their talks. Poor way to run a town cafe that once was a very popular place among the local inhabitants and known for being very friendly and unraveled

Rating this under my cafe list since I separate restaurants, cafes and franchises. I gotta be honest this was pretty solid and a lucky find. It’s one of the few places I could find open on a Sunday in a town I’m not familiar with and everything was cooked perfectly I decided to go off the beaten track and order something weird and not exactly on the main menu and went with the pancakes, bacon and eggs. The only issue I had was you had to tell them you wanted the eggs and bacon and it’s not made super clear on the menu so I had to order them later and wait for them to arrive (it was definitely worth it though.
