"Visited last Sunday to celebrate 3 peoples birthdays including my wife and l. There was a group of 15 of us. The service and food was excellent. Hot and plentiful with a good selection of deserts. The day could not be better until the bills were paid. The young lad in charge wouldn 't let us leave as there was a £53 bill that hadn 't been paid supposedly. We tried to sort out the error and after 20 mins we found their mistake. Someone had tried to charge us twice for a cash sale. One or two of our group got a bit heated but a lot of patients was given to the staff. However they had no idea how to check their till sales. I had to show them.. Once it was confirmed we could leave l suggested to the young lad that he could make the situation a little better by apologising to our group.....all he would say that he hadn 't done anything wrong. Maybe he personally hadn 't but neither did our very disgruntled group. I asked to speak to the owner but was told she won 't talk to you Great customer service...not. On the way out l bumped into the owner and spoke to her about it and she promised to look into it and call my wife the following day. Its Wednesday and no contact from anyone. So l am here writing a review. 5 stars for food 4 star for the table service and 1 star for customer service and experience. 0 stars for the owners interest. Shame"

Another fantastic Sunday lunch. Love this place. Very friendly staff, excellent service. Very reasonable prices. Several good choices for desserts. I will always have the apple crumble.

7 of us for Sunday lunch. Absolutely fantastic. Service very good. Friendly atmosphere. The amount of beef was amazing and beautifully tender. Plenty of veg. Deconstructed apple crumble so tasty.

Visited on a Wednesday for burger night and was really impressed. The food was amazing and the service from Michelle and the team could not be faulted. A great mix of a great local and also perfect for visitors to the area like we were. Clearly since the photos were updated on here there have been lots of changes and wow are they for the better. All round a great night!

New to Morton so we decided to try the restaurant. Staff very attentive, friendly and informative. Gave us background of the restaurant, location and source of the food. Now about the food....everything was so fresh, super tasty and plentiful. Best steak I have had in years. We have since been back two more times, once for pie Thursday....Succulently filled and the homemade beef gravy amazing, and then last night where we had a couple of specials. Always made welcome and remember who we are. Definitely our new favourite. Adam, Kelly and Evie

Delicious lunch here on Sunday, 30th August. Roast pork, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cauliflower, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, all smothered in very tasty gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. Good home cooked food and plenty of it. I had the small plate and genuinely couldn't have managed the large which was doubled up on everything! Mine was two courses for £8.95. Exceptional value! Will be back again for sure. Special mention for Tiggy who has her own ice cream sundae named after her. Full of fruit, sprinkles, ice cream and sauce it looked soooo good. I'll have that next time .

This is the first time we have tried the Five Bells at Morton for a Sunday lunch since it is now operated by the local company, Clarkes Catering. The main courses are excellent and beautifully presented with beef and chicken always available with an additional roast of the day. One course is priced at £12.95, two at £14.95 and three at £17.95. The drinks are reasonably priced, but bottles of white wine should be served in coolers! I highly recommend Sunday lunch at the 5 Bells. Whilst it is classified as Bourne by TripAdvisor, it is actually located in the village of Morton, 2 miles north of Bourne. I highly recommend Sunday lunch at the 5 Bells.

Eat in and now delivery.... superb. We visited the Five Bells in Morton before the Covid-19 outbreak and what a banquet we had. We tried the bar board selection of nibbles as a starter. A great selection with meat and veggie choices. As there were just three of us, we had plenty to taste. Main courses consisted of fajitas, one meat, one veggie cooked to order from the specials board. Very fresh and very very tasty. Texan barbeque chicken kept the teenager more than happy. Stuffed at this stage, we did share delicious desserts. The great news is that Clarke Catering who run the restaurant at the Five Bells have maintained their very high standards with a prompt local delivery service. Highly...

It has been many years since we had been to this pub, back then it was quite an uninspiring place but I was pleased that the present landlords have done the place up an it is now quite welcoming. It was Sunday so they only serve roast dinner, main and a pudding is what you can get with different size roasts, we had the choice of beef or Turkey, I went for the Turkey and asked for plenty of cranberry sauce only to be told we dont have cranberry sauce yet you could have horseradish or mustard with the beef, who serves Turkey with no cranberry? So the lunch arrived and it was quite bland frozen roast potatoes with no seasoning but the Yorkshire was homemade. I dont think I will be rushing back...

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
