"Kindness, patience and really good food and service. Pre-booked a quiet table so my family, including my dementia affected 77 yr old Father, could enjoy Sunday brunch and paint a bit of pottery beforehand. The service, the kindness, the humanity, was a treasured delight. Of course the pottery painting is fun too and our 7yr old daughter was matching her granddad brushstroke for brushstroke! The brie ham and onion relish toasted sandwich was delish (not my first time), Mums chicken caesar wrap was a triumph and everyone said what a truly delightful time we all had. We’ll done the team at Chameleon Cafe *applause*"

"The Green Man at Linsell is a charming pub located off the beaten path that almost meets expectations. The pub's decor is lovely and you'll receive a warm welcome from the attentive front-of-house team. It's a step up from your typical pub, with white tablecloths and napkins that elevate the Sunday lunch experience. Getting there may require navigating through narrow single-track roads with the help of a somewhat confusing satnav, but there is ample parking available once you arrive. The drink selection is standard pub fare, though the wine list appears reasonable. For our meal, we both opted for the beef Sunday roast. While everything was cooked well, the dishes lacked seasoning and punch to truly elevate the flavors. One dish that stood out was a broccoli cheese concoction that seemed odd and wasn't to our taste. For dessert, we tried the crumble and brownie bake. The crumble, advertised as apple and blackberry or blackcurrant, felt lacking in the black element, resulting in what appeared to be a purple apple crumble. Despite these drawbacks, we cleaned our plates and left feeling satisfied and ready for a post-meal walk with our dog. The bill came to £30 per person, drinks included, making it a reasonably priced Sunday lunch option. Overall, The Green Man at Linsell is worth a visit for a leisurely lunch in a pleasant setting."

"Excellent freshly cooked food, none of the big chain frozen and reheated servings dished up in other restaurants. Prices may seem a little high but quality is what you pay for. The pizza had all fresh ingredients and came out larger than expected. Tiramisu was delicious. Would strongly recommend if looking for place to eat out in Dunmow"

"My wife and I ate in here on Saturday, we had been advise to go early as they book out quickly. We where seated quickly and started with poppadums with a range of delicious accompaniments, I loved the lime pickle and my wife liked the coconut one. The menu had a wide range of options including Bangladeshi dishes. I loved the allergy guide on the menu as it took the stress out of ordering. We shared crispy, sweet and spicy Onion Bhaji, an Brinjal Bhajee delicate aubergine dish); a Sardines Biran so filling), Chapatil and Shatkora Gosth. The lamb in the Shatkora Gosth was so tender it melted in the mouth hitting your palette with a spicy rich flavour, We did not make it to desert. I enjoyed a glass of house white, which was light and refreshing. Thank you for a wonderful meal. Lynne Annie"

"Needed somewhere for a quick lunch whilst travelling through the area.Found this cafe was busier than the others in the street so thought that was a good sign.Ordered a blt baguette and poached eggs on toast with teas and coffee.Nice food, quick service and very reasonable prices.Didn’t see any signs that they took cash only but it may be because there were so many signs about COVID 19 so had to go to an atm which is luckily close by.Would visit again if in the area."
