"2 adults and 2 children restaurant empty on arrival at 5.00pm (had booked online). Seated, ordered drinks and food served by a disinterested, dishevelled looking waiter. Drinks came promptly but as restaurant was empty not too difficult to manage. 45 minutes later we asked the whereabouts of the food no real answer just a sort of murmur we thought of leaving at this point but the children were hungry and in the event food came out about 5 mins later. Children’s meals were ok. Both adults had a fried chicken burger meal one was so dry it was like trying to cut into a brick, the dessert spoon of pulled pork was all right. The other person was so hungry at this point they ploughed on with their not quite so dried out, tough chicken a bit less well done than the brick! No one came to check if food ok or to clear the table and ask if we wanted dessert, more drinks, coffee. We asked for the bill from the waitress who was just starting her shift mentioning the brick like chicken as she (partially) cleared the table after about 30 mins of sitting amongst the debris. She advised we should have sent the food back and she was correct but after waiting almost an hour to get it (and not having another 45 mins to spare) I chose to pick around the rest of the meal. Rosemary Fries ok (though not much flavour oddly). Bill arrived quickly but no one came back to take payment so I went to the desk and paid. Bill total about £79 and a £7 odd service charge. The 10% service charge should have been deducted at the very least as other than putting the plates down on the table no other service provided. And, even though the food should rightly have been sent back, an apology for the very poor quality of the food with some sort of explanation should have been forthcoming. Needless to say we won’t be going back in a hurry."

Booked a table for 7. Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish, the food was out of this world and not small portions either. The restaurant it self clean, tidy and well run…… please if you read this I would say go, it’s fantastic

Just popped in for a quick bite with my son. Never been here before but will definitely be back. Friendly staff and the food was top notch. Portions were on the large size that’s a good thing and everything tasted fresh and presented in a nice way 5 stars. Highly recommend

Made a last minute booking yesterday Friday night, very welcoming and friendly staff, food was excellent one of the best burgers I have had, chips great as well lovely and hot. Took advantage of cocktail deal on a Friday night very good cocktails. Friendly atmosphere and great music, will definitely be going back

As we walked through Leigh on a Friday night, we decided to try out Garrards. We were not disappointed - the service was excellent, some of the best I've had in a restaurant in a while. The food was delicious, and the espresso martinis were fantastic (the cocktail deal drew us in). We will definitely be coming back and have been recommending it to everyone.

We went, as a family, for Sunday roast and couldn't have enjoyed it more! The food was piping hot, really delicious, cooked to perfection and generous in portion size. We all were blown away by how perfect it was. The chef did a brilliant job and everything on the plate was fantastic; so tasty! The service was professional, efficient and friendly. We couldn't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return.

I was disappointed by my experience at Garrards. I had been excited to try Lobster Sunday as a big fan of lobster, but the lobster was dry and overcooked and we didn't even have the tools to crack the claws. The food and drinks took a long time to come out, and after ordering drinks, the staff just stood there. It was a strange experience. The restaurant has potential but we found it to be a letdown. Additionally, I thought the price of $8.50 for "dirty fries" was not worth it - just fries with a sprinkle of cheese. It's a shame because we are locals who love lobster burgers and cocktails. We all agreed that they should reconsider Lobster Sunday until they can get it right. We won't be retur...

We had a fantastic brunch experience at this restaurant! Despite being 10 minutes late, we were pleased to find that our 90-minute boozy time was not deducted. The staff were very accommodating and started our time when we received our first drink. We opted for the cocktail option, which was only £45 and included about 6 drinks, making it excellent value for money. Each drink was well-made and you could taste the alcohol, rather than it being just juice. We appreciated that the drinks were freshly made on the spot, rather than pre-mixed. The burgers were delicious and satisfying, and the rosemary-salted chips were also excellent and came in a generous portion. I would definitely return here...

Had a meal at Garrards on Sat 15 Oct. Seemed nice at first. Then realised that for a small place, the music was much too loud. I could not have a conversation with the people I was with as I could not hear them. When the waiter came to take our order, I could not hear him as it was too loud and had to ask my husband what he was saying. We ordered rump steaks. Waiter came back and said they had run out and would we be ok with the sirloin. We said yes, expecting them to be at the same price. The steaks were not all that. I have had better from Aldi Lidl.
