"We wandered into this restaurant on a weekday and were immediately impressed with the quiet ambiance and typical German decor. We sat upstairs where only one other table was occupied. The staff was warm and friendly and the food very good. A very nice mixed salad came with most courses and was very good. There were many choices for main courses and we each had a different one so we could sample the others. Many pork (schwein) dished and the cutlets with mushroom sauce was excellent! The spatzle were outstanding, and were quickly sauteed in butter just before serving. Wunderbar!! Highly recommended and in the Altstadt. Would definitely return again in fact tried to do so, but restaurant was closed that night.Check for Reutag days!"

The food was delicious and the atmosphere great in this very old inn. The schnitzel was super and the Leber Klosse soup yummy. Located on a very old side street in town. Definitely try it out

We ate here twice during our three day trip to Neustadt. Wonderful fresh food that we couldn't get enough of. Our favorite was the Spätzle. either the one with the pork medallions or the cheese Spatzle. Both were excellent.

Unbelievable good food! We had the rinder, spinach dumplings with pumpkin and a chestnut soup and it was all on the point. Have not eaten so well for a long time, although we often eat out. RIESEN Kompliment an den Koch Ambiente also very cozy and welcoming, very nice service

The food here was good. However after we had ordered a waitress came over with an apple strudel and refused to believe we didn't order it. She wouldn't take no for answer and was being very rude, she only stopped when our original waitress came over and told her that it was for a table downstairs!

This is the second time we have eaten here in a year…..consistency is the key . Food is very good local fare.We had bratwurst mit kraut, great salad w/ unique mustard dressing and schweinsnitzel w/ potatoes. Do not speak english but owner and waitress was friendly offering us a neu or new wine of this season.Sehr gut!!

We were a group of 10 and luckily had a reservation since the place was very busy. The menu is not very large but there is something for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. I had the Wurst Salat mit Bratkartoffeln and it was really good. Several folks had the Gerberhaus Spaetzle; one had the Rahmschnitzel and everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. There are a few tables downstairs where we sat and there is additional seating upstairs. I'd go back again when in Neustadt.

We went to a group of almost 30 people in the Gerberhaus yesterday. The menu proposals prepared by the cook (which also took care of themselves) were wonderfully matched and also with the wines. The flexibility of the kitchen in terms of allergies and incompatibility really didn't know any limits. I have rarely experienced so much consideration and hospitality with such a large group. Very good praise for the great staff and also the kitchen! From Aperitif to Dessert everything was super delicious!
