Gillray's Steakhouse

I have a wonderful breakfast time in the restaurant. The waitress named Sanda, was patient and helped me a lot, much appreciated.

Great service. Good food. Very friendly! We enjoyed our time each day we were there. We hope to go back and would highly recommend.

The staff is wonderful at the County Hall property including Gillray's. All the meals and snacks we had were great and served with high level of politeness and professionism.

Should lean in to its 60's decor and go groovy jazz the menu was great, the wines were good and the staff were fantastic but the ambience was lacking and I felt it took itself a bit too seriously. Ended up feeling a bit like eating at a hotel restaurant, which it technically is. Where is the Gillray's character?

Superb food, incredible service and a nice, relaxed vibe. My wife and I have been here twice, once on her birthday and again on the day between both of ours. The staff very kindly, on both occasions, gave us a cake and wished us happy birthday. I can't recommend this place or it's food highly enough. Will be back.

We had the pleasure of meeting Sanda who was our server for breakfast at Gilroys. She went over and above to make us feel like individuals she was so welcoming and friendly. The quality of food is excellent and the breakfast menu offers a good variety of options. Breakfast can be enjoyed whilst overlooking the Thames which adds to the experience but without doubt its the friendliness of the staff that make the difference and are the star quality here.

We ordered two glasses of the £12 pound Chardonnay and pointed it out on the menu. The waiter confirmed. When we received the bill, we were charged £22 pounds a glass. The waiter blamed it on the fact that we ordered «Chardonnay, and not the house wine» (which was also chardonnay), yet he billed us for the most expensive out of three options. This is an outright lie as he confirmed that we ordered the £12 pound wine when we ordered. And if we did indeed order an undefined glass of chardonnay, why charge the most expensive? The only thing the waiter offered to do was to remove the service fee. We feel scammed.

My wife and I had lunch here on Monday August. We had a table with a view (well, she did The welcome was warm and the seats comfy, and the location is very close to the embankment but away from the noise and crowds. We started with a cocktail each which were superbly made and delicious, followed by fantastic calamari served with black squid ink mayo. So tender with a beautifully crisp coating. My wife opted for a fillet steak and I had the sirloin. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and were so juicy and tender. She loved the red wine sauce and I too loved the béarnaise sauce. And the truffle cheese triple-cooked chips were out of this world! So much truffle flavour! The wines we had pair...

During a stay in Marriott County Hall we ate at the in-house restaurant. As with breakfast, dinner was very good. Staff and service were friendly, efficient and excellent. Food was very good. Starter of a cobb salad (lettuce, avocado, egg, blue cheese and bacon) was delicious would have it again, honey and chilli ribs were also excellent and tasty. Mains were fillet steak (only complaint it was cooked with black pepper which wasn’t on the menu and I am sensitive to it) beautifully cooked a little over done for medium rare but really good quality beef, triple cooked chips and vegetables (creamed spinach and beans with lemon and garlic) and spatchcock chicken was huge, stuffed with what looked...
