"Myself , husband , some and mother in law booked for Sunday lunch, having been about 8-9 times before we knew the meat could be a little hit and miss (sometimes really tough and chewy) but we thought we 'd go again and hope for a good day! We were the only table in for about 30 min then throughout the entire lunch only one other table came . The buffet style started was a let down all seafood its of boney fish nothing meat or fruit based my son (18months) loves fish but because of al the bones couldn 't really eat it, I we never order the soup as the times we have it 's been like water !! Sunday lunch is suppose to be comforting , lots of vegetable selections , lovely fluffy yorkshires it 's suppose to be like mum made accept this lunch the beef was so incredibly chewy , the Yorkshire would have been perfect if they weren 't swimming with oil. The potatoes weren 't brown and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle they were pale and bland . The veg was like something you 'd get in school dinner hall ... carrots, broccoli and cauliflower all cooked together in one pot . They use to have all the veg Separate and a much bigger better selection , there was no stuffing although when asked they do reheat some in microwave for me .. which was awful (unfortunately) The gravy was the only Good thing about the meal . The dessert table also use to be lovely except NEVER eat the cheesecake they always use gelatine and it 's never dissolved properly so you end up gagging on tiny bits of rubbery gelatine! They use to have a cheese selection they don 't seem to anymore . They staff were friendly but not very aware if all out played being full on clearing the table . Such a shame"

Cheese board was very large. I might have that as a main course next time. Nice belly pork though. Not too expensive either.

Great service, lovely staff. Basic but also just what you need when staying away in business. Steak is always cooked spot on.

Met friends who were staying there for a meal. Disappointed with the speed of service and the quality of the food. With so many other quality restaurants in Weybridge why bother eating at this dump? They obviously rely on weddings and conferences to keep financially buoyant. Visualizza piatti

2nd visit to restaurant, when visiting Weybridge this year. Only one other table occupied in restaurant, surprisingly quiet. Food was very good, tasty and good portions. Only complaint was chips were not cooked .... raw worst chips we have had in a long time. Would visit again when in Weybridge

Breakfast only and once only. Buffet uncovered with unmasked diners breathing all over it. Waiter’s unmasked too. After that we went out for breakfast. We live in Scotland where masks are still mandatory. But when reception told us that they had a problem with getting staff as they kept getting pinged we thought the hotel should ask their staff to mask up.

I've stayed at the hotel many times for work but have always ventured out for dinner. After dining at Gordon's last night I'm really not sure why. The food in Gordon's was wonderful and the service excellent. I had tempura prawns to start which were good a little too much salad) followed by the Lamb which was divine and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is contempory and the staff friendly and warm. It's a shame more people don't use it as I would recommend. Visualizza piatti

Staff were pleasant (hence 2* but the food was very poor(-5* ! Burnt Pie, soggy chips, tasteless gravy. Food was shocking to be honest, was cheap because of the way out to help out but if it was full price and I wasn’t so hungry and tired it would have went back! Can I recommend to management that you stick to hotel accommodation at this time as this has let you down, there is no real need for plastic knives and forks. This is the only place in UK that I’ve had to use takeaway utensils and I’ve stayed in 10 hotels during August and eaten in some and also outside in restaurants!

I visited The Ship in September , two Sunday's in a row. On my first visit I had the roast beef could barely cut it never mind chew it. It was like rubber I did not enjoy it at all! The 2nd visit I had the roast pork it was ok but I was surprised that there were no mashed potatoes , only roasted!? Also it would be better if the gravy could be served in a side jug because my plate was swimming in it (lead to a very soggy yorkshire pudding)! The gravy also had far too much mixed herbs in it so the taste of them took over the whole meal! Really feel the food was very mediocre , on both occasions , to say the least! The service on my 2nd visit was a shambles! They were late in setting up so we h...

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
