"I don’t usually write reviews but this was absolutely terrible service. Really gutted as the starters we had were lovely. Arrived at 7 and got our drinks, they forgot a cup of tea and we had to ask twice where this was, and we were made to feel like their bad service was our fault and were assured it was arriving soon. Starters took long to arrive as well, we ordered 3 portions of the rice balls it was stated on the menu that 3 would be on the plate with different flavours, yet only 2 arrived for each portion. When we queried this before we left we were asked if we were sure there was only 2??? Yes we can count? After over two hours waiting and no main courses we asked if the wait would be long, assured it was coming. The restaurant although attached to Chili village, was not busy and staff were scarce. When we tried to pay for what we had drank and our starters we were met with resistance and the waitress and manager were very rude, at this point I just wanted to pay for it and go, we were not trying to cause a scene. The waitress stood in the doorway and wouldn’t let my partner step outside for a cigarette even though he wasn’t the one paying. I’ve never had service this bad, I won’t be returning and will urge others to stay away from a horrid experience."

1h 20mins for 4 simple starters. 30mins for the main. Vegan burger was a mess wrong bun; just fell apart. Waitress was trying her best but what an absolute joke, the time we had to wait. Will not return in a hurry.

We went for lunch at this restaurant. The decor was strange, we waited a long time for our food, and we could hear staff arguing. The spicy bean burger bun was so dry that it shattered when I bit into it. The chips were over-seasoned and too salty. Overall, the whole experience was very strange.

We enjoyed an amazing evening great vegan food (carefully adapted for coeliac dietary requirements) SO beautifully presented, it was a real treat! Attentive but discreet service in an imaginative atmosphere surrounded by real greenery with the large space made cosy by the haybale dividers. Good value too we thoroughly recommend it! I absolutely adored the food at this restaurant. The dishes were always freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, it's disheartening to learn that they have now closed down. My partner and I used to frequent this place every few months. I would love to obtain some of their recipes so that I can try to recreate them at home.

We recently dined at Green Loft for the first time and had a fantastic experience! We were seated in the Chilli Village restaurant downstairs, so we can't speak to the decor of the rest of the restaurant. However, the Chilli Village had a great atmosphere and the staff were attentive and helpful. Although the wait times were a bit long, the food was well worth it when it arrived. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The vegan menu had a great selection of options, and we can't wait to come back and try the vegan fish and chips. We will definitely be returning soon.

I can think of nothing positive to say about this place. Avoid. The kitchen is shared by the non vegan and very tacky chilli village situated in the same building. The food was boring and old fashioned. Vegan food used to be dull salads and falafel. Here it still is frozen in the 1980s. As for what was served one salad was sitting in a puddle of oil, the other was basic carrot, lettuce and a couple of orange segments. The gyoza had a dry dusty aftertaste and were cooked from frozen. The wait staff didn't seemed to know how to respond when I said the food was not ok. I had to suggest they take it back to the kitchen to show the chef. The bill came and we had to ask for money off for the inedi... Visualizza piatti

My husband ordered the vegan “fish and chips” which he thoroughly enjoyed. He couldn’t fault it and the portion was large. I ordered the Mediterranean pie, which in hindsight, I should have sent back. The menu stated, ‘chucky Mediterranean vegetables’ yet there were no vegetables in it, just chickpeas and some sort of meat substitute. It looked delicious; however, the sauce was over flavoured, and the puff pastry was thin and rock hard. My chips were different to my husbands, mine were skin on fries whereas his were chunky. I couldn’t eat mine as they were so salty. The slow service put us off of ordering dessert, so we asked for our bill, even the bill took ages to arrive! To be honest, I w...

Do not support this business. I have never walked out of a restaurant, nor left a public complaint but the service my group experienced at Green Loft this evening was genuinely staggering. The starters arrived after the best part of an hour, and the items received were not as descripted on the menu. After waiting for 2 hours for main courses we politely asked if we could pay the bill as we weren't happy waiting any longer. The staff all but refused our request, and then stood in the doorway to prevent us leaving before the manager could arrive. When said manager did, we received no apology for the poor service and no offer of a discount or refund. We informed the manager of the discrepancies...

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. "I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
