This is a very small and cosy restaurant with a view over Lake Lucerne - I could not imagine a more romantic place. Food was great, though not excellent, but the atmosphere really made up for any shortcomings.

Simple, trendy, delicately arranged dishes that were both delicious and refined. We had the yellow fin tuna, veal with capers, anchovies and lemon to start and the roasted char with pickled fennel, carrot-ginger mouse and quinoa. It was delightful. Such a beautiful setting as well.

We had dinner when the restaurant had only Michelin star and now it was time to appreciate its second star. It was amazing. We often dine in Michelin star restaurants but this one is very special and incomparable. We order a course menu,...and each course was amazing. The combinations of ingredients were unbelievable. The service was great, the staff was very friendly and they are mostly Dutch.

We stayed at the hotel, and didn't know about Sens until our last day -- it is that well hidden from the rest of the hotel/ world, and the hotel has another lovely restaurant on the lakefront that you can't miss.Thankfully, we discovered this restaurant on our last evening.The setting is very special.The food very creative and whimsical.The kitchen had a problem getting the food out in a timely fashion for our dinner. I have eaten at several and Michelin starred places and I find it odd this restaurant is stars instead of The first half of my meal was all food that was experimental for the sake of experimentation. Consider: medium rare langoustine...and cocoa sauce, not a great combination. There were many times where the flavor of one ingredient completely overpowered the rest. Texture and actual craft was great, but the underlying dishes and flavors need work. Servers nice but impossibly dreadfully slow service, almost a hour meal. And the food was not worth hours... Incredible lake view was the best part.

We stayed at the Park and walked over to the Hotel Vitznauerfhof, home of Sens restaurant. The restaurant is actually a free-standing building away from the property (the hotel features another restaurant as well). Sens is one of those restaurants that you wonder why it is in Vitznau since it is very pricey and the chef is very creative (when do you dine and the server puts a giant rock on the table with little nibbles to select?). Located right on the lake with a nice outdoor lounge area and 10 outdoor tables (too cold when we were there), there are only 8-10 tables inside. So reserve well in advance. We ate at this restaurant which is one of the restaurants of the Vitznauerhof where we stayed. I can only recommend this restaurant for its exquisite fish cuisine and its outstanding location. We were lucky to have the opportunity of al fresco dining on the little isle right on the lake. We chose the set menu consisting of delicacies like moules st. jacques, perch, sole, etc. All courses were presented in a stunningly imaginative way that we found it hard to start eating the beautiful arrangements. The chef M. Karim cooked the fish perfectly and combined it with matching veg and spices. The amazing fact was that we could have gone on eating even after the 5 courses. The suggested wines to go...
