"Cant exactly put my finger on it but just did not enjoy my experience. Wanted to have an evening meal so told at the bar to find a table then order. Which I did, could not have a tab so had to order two drinks...and food pay and sit down. Real ale selection was poor in my opinion (no regular ales) which I asked the bar person for their opinion which they did not have one, and the beer was not to my liking so a wasted second pint too. Food was not brilliant and had to ask for condiments after food was served. Got the idea staff were, ore interested in speaking with themselves at the bar."

Bad product Grolsch Lager is a premium warehouse with a premium price tag and should be served in a premium state.

Lovely place BUT it’s £9 for a cocktail (espresso martini or passion fruit martini) on draught, don’t choose it you can fit two of them in one glass!

Stopped in for a Sunday roast with the kids and MIL, very friendly staff, great food and a nice experience, they had the fire going to help warm it all up. Very happy with our experience here today

Had pastor cakes with mined peas for lunch for £16.00. The shepherd cake was so small that I was hungry. The garden of peas were not even degraded. A total demolition. Save your money and go somewhere else.

possibly the longest ever wait for a burger and some chips. waited a hour which isn't long in a packed pub , but there was about 3 people in at the time. bar staff were pleasant and offered to go chase up the order. drinks...were put in the house.

Stopped for lunch on a nice day during the week. Sat outside out the back. The place had a really nice vibe to it. Staff were mostly really friendly except one miserable chef who grunted at me when I said hello. The food was ok....Chips in chicken gravy was amazing. The buffalo chicken wings a bit dry….but my burger was burnt. Bad form that. I bet it was the miserable chef

We arrived at opening time on a Sunday lunchtime for a family catch up. We had 5 adults and 3 children in our party. There was no specific children's menu, but half size portions of the main Sunday menu. Chicken schnitzel was a popular choice...along with roast beef dinner. Food was lovely and enjoyed by all. Puddings were also great! My only small niggle would be there was quite a wait from ordering before receiving our food, both for main courses and puddings.

I visited a few times with friends because they liked so much that they wanted to return. Its pub atmosphere with a reasonable selection of drinks, but what we especially enjoyed was a selection of appetizers that we ate in tapas style between...us . the quality and variety was excellent and we will go back when in the middle of Thame . Not a gastropub, but the quality would be ashamed of some upmarket food. The staff was a but variable, but generally pleasant and helpful.

Menu looked ok, chose the burger with Stilton. You wouldn't know it had seen a stylon. We were asked if we wanted some sauces before we got the food, how do you really know? Not even as much as a piece of tomato for shrimp, or anything in the burgers, other than the burgers that were fair was nice, though rather small. It looked pretty lost on the plate, and uninteresting, you can't run a tab. Chips were nice! Didn't worry about Dessert when we thought we were disappointed again. Definitely overpriced.

"We usually love coming to Cafe Rouge in Henley, always a treat for us and we are always looking forward to it. However the most recent visit was awful and it’s been going downhill over our last coupes of visits. We booked a table for my father in laws birthday. Upon being seated, we were informed that 3 of the main course dishes were unavailable.. pretty much half of the ‘mains’ options. We don’t come to Cafe Rouge for Burgers or salad! We opted for 3 portions of Mussels as had them here before and they’re very good! Mother in law just had pate as there was nothing else she wanted. These were possibly the worst mussels we’ve ever had. You could tell they weren’t fresh (cooked from frozen for sure) and there was barely any sauce in the pot! Usually they are flavourful and abundant in sauce! No check back was performed by the manager on duty..it was a quiet Monday so wasn’t exactly run off his feet. So we couldn’t alert him. Even upon clearing we weren’t ask how our meal was! Just asked if we had finished. We decided to mention they were awful to which the manager told us he would inform the kitchen. When he came back to finish clearing, my partner asked if they were frozen or fresh mussels, to which the manager replied yes, they are frozen. Wasn’t expecting that but you could totally tell! They tasted like cardboard! We had a coffee and a pudding and to be fair to the manager he didn’t charge us for one portion of mussels and the coffees we ordered. The Bill was certainly not worth what we had. Didn’t leave a tip, which we never normally do, but the service was non existent. Manager was more interested in what was on his phone. Won’t be rushing back"
