"Walked in a pleasant setting for lunch, we had high anticipation. But that quickly became an insult with the pretentious menu and poor value for money - even for Swiss standard. Average food served in ridiculously small portions. A tiny bowl (not larger than a palm) of vegetable with few cabbage leaves and four tiny potato cubes in green curry sauce costs 29CHF. A few thin slices (size of a 5CHF coin) of stir fried chicken and four pieces of cashew nuts cost 37CHF. 7CHF for a small bowl of white rice! how much effort does it take to make white rice? At 37CHF for a dish one would expect some white rice included. 10 CHF for a bottle of water? Unjustifiably pricey for average food. Not worth the money."

Very nice Reststrant in a cosy and spacious old building in Binningen. Food is fresh and all spices prepared on the day. Very tasty.

Been to Kittipon's several times over the last couple of years and always had delicious food. It is a bit pricey compared to other Thai restaurants in the area, but you do get better food for your money as well.

We went there with great expectations, as the reports received so far were all enthusiastic. Well, everything was westernized to the extent that the food tasted good, but unspectacular. The typical Thai "kick" based on carefully chosen spices was not there. I like spicy food, and was disappointed. On the other hand, the prices are pretty high. Visualizza piatti

Came in the restaurant with some doubts. Michelin star for Asian food, very skeptical! However, the food was great beside not enough spicy! Love the chicken wantons. Will definitely go back! I brought my own wine, with cockage charge of 35 chf. Checked their wine list, it is in German. Being illiterate in German, Lucky I ve done that rather drinking something I have no idea with. Overall experience was very pleasant!

Went for dinner with a few colleagues based on their recommendation. Don't get me wrong, the food was nice, but it had been dulled down to a Swiss standard- meaning there was very little Thai spice. The spring roll appetizer had 1 spring roll. Prices were high, even by Swiss standards. Definitely not value for money. The staff were pleasant and attentive so cannot be faulted. I personally prefer a Thai place to be more, well, Thai.

I came to this restaurant with high expectations and was disappointed. The food was good, but by no means exceptional. I ordered mango salad with tiger prawns and had some difficulty finding the 3 smallish prawns hiding in the dish. The seasoning gave the salad a nice zing but was too salty for my taste. My main course was utterly forgettable, as it tasted like goulash with peanuts. The restaurant itself has pleasant, unassuming decor, but is very noisy. Dinner for 2 , with wine and drink came to CHF 200 -- a bit steep even by Basel's standards. Visualizza piatti

An unusually situated restaurant in the middle of the tram tracks at the end station in Binningen. The restaurant itself is beautifully clean, with fesh flowers and white table linen and the passing trams outside were hardly noticed. We were welcomed and helped to our table- the service was exceptionally friendly. The food was all served very artfully and it was just as deliciious. We ordered 2 set menues and the portion size was good but we were unable to finish the dessert. For a 3 course lunch we paid CHF69.00 per person plus drinks, so this is very expensive for a normal weekday meal.

I have known the restaurant for dinner in the evening. The food was always very good but rather expensive. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the table are all arranged so they give you enough privacy. We went there for lunch and it was great. There is a limited set of menus but the quality was equally as good as in the evening. We had a small starter, main (with meat), dessert and a mineral water for 23 francs. The waiter was also nice and giving us enough privacy.I can highly recommend the restaurant specially the lunch. One comment, they do have outside seating... It looks nice but the tram come by every 6 minutes.... I prefer to go when the weather is not good and then sit inside...

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
