We had a nice dinner at this place. It is a nice deli/wine store that also serves very good food. Ate outside and had very good pasta and meat dishes. There are many restaurants along this pedestrian road, but I think this one is among the best. I would definitely return. Dinner was reasonable for two and service was also good.

Ci siamo fermati qui per bere qualcosa prima di cena e abbiamo avuto una grande sorpresa. Abbiamo assaggiato un Chardonnay invecchiato del 2017 prodotto localmente versato da un Coravin, ghiacciato in una caldissima giornata estiva; un piccolo piatto di formaggi eccellenti, boudin di barolo alla barbabietola, prosciutto e pane. Molti preferiscono sedersi fuori, ma per apprezzare appieno questo ristorante, passate attraverso il negozio in una piccola stanza con circa otto tavoli. La cucina è accanto e potete ammirare lo chef al lavoro. Il mio antipasto di salmone affumicato era composto da deliziosi pezzi piuttosto che fette sottili e la pasta era superba. Mia moglie ha apprezzato i suoi piatti anche lei. La lista dei vini era completa ma su suggerimento della nostra cameriera abbiamo provato un bianco locale a un prezzo ragionevole. Era eccellente. Provateci. Non resterete delusi.

We called into this Bar/Restaurant for a drink and some light food. The bar was located down one of the lane ways off the Via Porta Pretoria backing onto the Roman Amphitheatre. The bar appears to be part of the Bottega Degli Antichi Sapori which fronted onto Via Porta Pretoria a few doors down from the lane way. We had visited the Bottega a couple of days before and thought that it was a very good delicatessen. There was a lovely courtyard out the back and we thought we recognised the house in front of us as that occupied by Rocco Schiavone in the Ice Cold Murder TV series. On Mondays, this group serves lunch in a space called Le Bar a Vin up the street. The waiter gave me a glass of lovely Valdostan white wine, and I sipped and looked at the amphitheater ruins. My first course was Seupa , but I kind of misunderstood the dish. It 's croutons (not out of a bag) with onions and greens in a dark broth topped with local cheese. It was fantastic. But I ordered lamb chops and potato puré, also great but not an ideal pairing (my fault). Everyone was very nice to me, and to everyone I saw them interact with including some really pushy/confused tourists.
