We have visited this restaurant many times over the past few years; We arrived on a Sunday around 1pm (without reservation) and we were seated at a table in the Café St Aubin part of the restaurant (not open on Sundays). The menus came fast and the order was taken also in a timely manner. But then the wait for our food. Nearly 50 minutes which is WAY too long for chicken pieces and the butcher's choice of the day is this the fault of the kitchen (not enough staffing) or? Who knows? We stayed in Angers for one night and happened upon this restaurant as we walked around. We were partly expecting steak to be their specialty but the result was quite disappointing. Tough, chewy steak definitely not the best cuts of meat being used, placed on top of a few sparse chips with salad garnish. The pepper sauce was nice but by the time the food reached our table it was lukewarm and the additional haricot beans were over cooked and literally stone cold.
