"If you're looking for a place to eat near the famous village of Oingt without falling into a tourist trap, then this is a good compromise. They serve good rustic meals with local producers (their menu lists the region where their vegetables and cheeses come from, even the slaughterhouse! If you're looking for gourmet food go to L'Auberge Gourmand at Bois d'Oingt instead with more expensive menus and foie gras (though it seems you can get foie gras now too at La Feuillee when I looked up their site today . But if you're looking for a generous fair meal of local produce this is a nice place to try. First of all the village of Theize is nice too. There is a ample parking space in front of the restaurant, and you can take a walk later around (turn right when you exit the restaurant, then follow the signboards for a view of vineyards and fields. There is a terrace space to eat outdoors in good weather. There is a Menu Terroir for 21.50 euros, with tete de veau or terrine starter, saucisson/sausage or tripes as main course, cheese, and dessert, which is a fair price. The servings are quite generous. Then the Menu du Marché (market day menu is 28.50 euros, with a fresh salad featuring in-house smoked duck slices, rillette, gizzards and stuffed chicken neck, which sounds like a halloween theme but tastes really good and not at all tripe-y. Or if you don't like tripes you can have the in-house cured ham with roquefort. We tried both and they were very tasty. Main course is a great charolais beef steak or salmon with a sorrel sauce, three of us meat-eaters chose the charolais of course, and it was superb. If you can still eat after all that, cheese and dessert is included in the menu, but we all went for the café gourmand for one euro more, which is coffee and a selection of four little portions of desserts (a chocolate cake, a little meringue with fresh raspberries, a little creme brulee and a little fruit clafoutis. There is a menu for kids, and instead of the usual sad french fries and burger steak fanfare here they offered a good piece of roast chicken with pasta and cream sauce. We had to ask for a serving of vegetables (this is sad, our experience of french restaurants automatically serving vegetables to kids have deteriorated recently, with most now omitting vegetables, but if you ask they will serve them and so far at no extra charges . I'm sorry I forgot how much the kid menu was, I'm fairly sure it was under 12 euros, including a drink and ice cream dessert. One thing to note, Anthony Bourdain said that if a restaurant has a very clean toilet it's a good sign. This place has a very clean toilet. Enough said."
