"very decus; a lot of bling for a 0 service. We arrive at 5; we sit on a table at 4, we have to ask to add an additional cover. which is brought to us on a plateau; for 3-year-old ub not very practical the range of 30g, pseudo servers that do not even have the junction of proposed dessert covers. half an hour before being served, while there were just about 20 dozen customers. the child menu, at 15 €; ham rag ( 1 slice of ham ), homemade tomato sauce quillette with labellized poultry pieces = (a can of tasteless and tasteless tomato purée). our dear axoa of calf, normally served without accompaniment, (minimumistic carrier unlike our Basque country) accompanied by tagliatelles; except that the c l axoa that accompanied the tagliatelles. We could see desserts worthy of the greatest pastry chefs but we didn't have the courage to wait. We're still looking for traditional cuisine. I can't let the managers be Basques! We know what we've paid, but we're still looking for what we're eating. It is better to continue 6 km more in zugarramurdi, certify community covers, but a sangria and olives served to wait, and a real axoa house served generously. To avoid!"

reception and service, cb from 30€ (each will deduce what it wants) unpleasant waitress and disdainful boss. "These tourists, what inquisitors"!

The menu for children is 15 euros so imagine the price for adults. It is really too expensive in addition the city is without great interest, dead city.

The welcome is a little austere. The dishes are good but some, the accompaniment of the axoa makes more thought of lustucru pasta than fried pasta...The selection of the wine with glass is a good addition that you are not served the vintage listed on the map. Visualizza piatti

After hesity we decided to go to lunch in this restaurant despite rather negative opinions. and, of course, servers are not very warm but very professional. The meal was perfect and the desserts exquisite. The chief's wife is a laughing clamp. I won't hesitate to come back.

We went there on purpose for a lunch that was supposed to be a party and it was. After 2 stays where the chief had us visit his map the previous seasons we only had a stop. Presentation of dishes and services to the height of our expectations: foie gras, ham of alludes in entry, veal cooked perfectly, discreet with fresh strawberries revisited and oppoca. We even went back with a house Basque cake, as usual would I say. We'll be back. It's not possible to go by.

planes stayed in 2004 at the oppoca hostel, returning to the Basque country decided to return to dinner in this restaurant. It has to be said that it has changed a lot, very beautiful more modern decor. We didn't sleep this time in the hotel but I think we would have been so pleasantly surprised. All this change....For the restaurant, nothing to say was perfect, the reception, the service, the typical dishes, a real treat of the original associations, we do not regret having made a detour to return. arrived at the bistro at 16:15 to taste the chef's Basque cake. on the table of the terrace, no card but a word asking the customers to report and that the payment by bank card is accepted from 30€. We report to the manager priori. A young waitress arrives around 4:30 to take the order. We ask him if it's possible to have the card. She pulls the table next to her and puts the card without delicacy or smile. She comes back to take the order always without a smile. at 16:45, the manager serves us without a smile too. the Basque cake and the hot homemade chocolate are excellent but the room staff seems tense. No cash cash receipt!

we wanted to eat in this restaurant because the cuisine seemed of quality and interesting, but what a welcome! In fact, the server and the boss turned our back focused on their papers. We wanted to eat in a terrace but the waiter coldly replied no! and without explanation led us to a table, when we reiterated our request he once again said no! without even a look for us. We then addressed the woman who was present to the boss? So the bosses: - I don't turn around and I'm throwing you from the end of the "no too cold" and of course I don't lower myself to look at you. When you're ready to unpack a hundred Euros for your dinner even if the food is good, a little smile, a nice word it counts as...

Bourg, 64310 Sare, France

"High in the foothills of the western Pyrenees, close to the seethingly-busy city of Biarritz, lies the village of Sare, its typically Basques architecture, surrounded by granite-topped, steeply-sloping grass peaks, which give the place its special charm. The small Hotel Arraya, is situated in the village centre, close to the church. On this particular Sunday, we had driven 57 km for our lunchtime meal, booked in advance, so expectations were high. Despite the beautiful June sunshine, we opted for a corner table inside the dark oak-beamed, cool interior of the restaurant, in a room spacious enough for the four of us not to feel confined, but sufficiently small to retain its ambience. The other clientele were all French; the group of about ten people sitting outside were clearly enjoying their special family occasion.Monsieur explained that the menu was only in French, but we considered this a plus. When taking our order, he did ensure that we had fully understood some of the more obscure terms on the menu. He was most helpful, without undermining our wish to use the French language wherever possible. Two of us opted for the €27 three-course plat-du-jour, the others à la carte. Our starters included: exquisitely-rolled mini squid; an attractive plate of crimson king-prawns with stuffed red peppers; goats’ cheese tart served with ewes’ milk ice cream. The main course choices were equally as mouthwatering: breaded monkfish with a mélange of fresh, local vegetables; succulent lamb with pimiento-pepper sauce; red-wined fillet of beef. The portions were substantial enough for dessert to be an unnecessary luxury. Nonetheless the plat-du-jour included the most scrumptious warm, choux pastry-covered prunes, served with an almond/vanilla sauce - delicious. Our waitress was attentive and well-mannered throughout, always with a constant smile on her face. Our drinks were reasonably priced, expresso coffees twice the size we are often served. An excellent experience which I'd recommend to all."
