"We found this restaurant while wandering around the old area of Tropea. It was a little hidden away. The menu looked good, so we returned after deciding against trying one of the places on the main tourist area (which were more highly rated). There is indoor and outdoor seating. Some of our party had the spaghetti with clams and mussels, another the seafood linguine and another had the mixed seafood. We also ordered a plate of grilled squid to share and the house white wine. The waiter brought out a plate of small bruschetta with fresh, ripe tomatoes tossed in olive oil and oregano. This was an unexpected and lovely touch. It was tasty. One of our party said the spaghetti was not of the best quality as some had stuck together, but I thought it was very good. The clams and mussels were cooked well and the sauce was delicious, also creamy without any butter or cream. The mixed seafood was also delicious and beautifully cooked. One member of our group was facing the kitchen and could see the great care the staff took with the presentation of our meals. The squid was also well received by everyone. The wine was unimpressive on its own, but worked very well with the food and didn't overwhelm the flavours of our meals. The waiter was lovely and service was unobtrusive. If/when we come back to Tropea, we will come back to La Perla Nera. Thank you again."

This place is just off the main drag near the square and hence a bit cheaper. Delicious fritta mistura and good cheap local wine 8 Euros a litre.

The insalata marina is the best! Authentic seafood taste, served cold (seviche), seasoning on point, olive oil and garlic. Possibly the best lunch/starter you can imagine.

i piatti sono molto buoni e le porzioni sono abbastanza grandi per ottenere ricchi e i prezzi sono appropriati. il servizio è molto bello. ti siedi in un cortile recintato.

Sono andato a cena e l'atmosfera non era giusta, la proprietaria, una anziana signora, continuava a urlare contro i camerieri e a fissare la gente. Mi sono sentito così a disagio e osservato, mai più.

Piatti di pesce abbastanza buoni: consiglio antipasto La Perla Nera e ravioli di cernia con vongole. Servizio molto veloce. Personale disponibile e molto gentile, unica pecca durante il servizio non portano sempre le mascherine.

Small place off the main tourist track. Restaurant has been there for 3 generations. Had pizza which was served piping hot and was good. Mine was without cheese and very tasty (so often this can be a disaster, in the UK at least). Espresso good. House red was OK with the food. Rather rustic on its own. Good value. Friendly staff.

Abbiamo cenato qui a fine agosto 2022. Il nostro guida turistica ci ha consigliato questo posto. Non siamo rimasti delusi. Ho preso un ottimo Aperol Spritz e ravioli di granchio in una leggera salsa di pomodoro. Mio marito ha preso pasta ai frutti di mare e fritto misto di frutti di mare. Tutti i piatti erano deliziosi, piacevoli e semplicemente deliziosi. Abbiamo mangiato fuori e goduto della serata. Assolutamente da visitare.

La migliore ristorante di famiglia a Tropea, un posto tranquillo e romantico in una piccola stradina laterale non lontano dal centro. Il personale è davvero gentile, intelligente e divertente, tutti i piatti sono eccellenti, non importa se preferite la pizza, la pasta, la carne o il menu di pesce molto delizioso, tutto era davvero fantastico! Grazie a Dio l'abbiamo trovato all'inizio della nostra visita a Tropea... Grazie per tutto il tempo trascorso con voi fratelli!
