"Je ne donne pas souvent d’avis, sauf quand cela s’impose, en effet pour avoir mangé a plusieurs reprises dans ce très bel établissement, que de bonnes surprises au fil des plats consommés. Produit frais et de saisons, et un chef qui sait les transformer . Une carte de vin où tout le monde y trouve son bonheur. Restaurant très accueillant, avec un personnel souriant et motivé. Que demander de plus quand on va manger dans un restaurant !!!!!! Je recommande vivement."

We chose: boar cuff and veal kidneys served with spattzle. and sorbet of griotte sprinkled with kirsch. a feast! the reception was made in strict respect of sanitary rules, in a very friendly way. the service was quick and courteous in a nice renovated room. a very good address, we will return with great pleasure"

"Bon accueil. Restaurant qui perpétue les traditions avec sa stammtisch des habitués, dialecte mais aucun problème si vous ne le parlez pas. On s'y sent bien, pas comme dans certains restaurants ripolinés-touristiqués avec des cigognes made in China. Menu du jour avec entrée plat excellents à prix doux. Tout pour plaire, ce que j'écris pratiquement jamais."

"When my wife told me "5*" with 200 reviews...how to believe it?the curiosity of discovering this beautiful hostel is immediate! one turns to itterswiller and there.....quelle surprise ! when entering the cellar one feels comfortable, a feeling of home...The welcome is exceptional... even for farlow, our faithful companion...The decoration is also at the height of 5*, beautiful ! an institution here! In addition, miam ! even saturated one has been tempted by a dessert... « gourmet coffee »... ... don’t leave without taking it in your stomach (a killing as the young people say)Add to this a pearl of black pinot...and a service of a rare professionalism! all at a very, very correct price.... "Andlau is an exceptionally lovely town and Le Boeuf Rouge is a fittingly pretty restaurant. It was very welcoming and the staff kind and friendly. We were happy with our meals. Two of us started with the foie gras. It came with plenty of toasted brioche, and cubes of a wonderful gelée, which tasted of Christmas ham. Delicious. The other two had the smoked salmon plate. We expected the usual bright pink slivers of fish, but what arrived were two sizeable tranches that were cleared smoked in house. It was extremely flavoursome, a little salty and well smoked. It came with an excellent lemongrass crème, almost the consistency of chantilly. The mains were the choucroute garni (an enormous plate with sauerkraut, potatoes and various pork meats), veal cordon bleus (obviously homemade and huge) and the ribs (falling off the broken and lovely). The only slight let down was desert. We had crème brûlée. The custard was a good consistency, a little firm perhaps, and had a good vanilla flavour. However, the brûlée was not well executed as the sugar was still quite grainy in places it needed a longer firing. Overall, though, I would happily recommend this restaurant for a pleasant meal."
