Le Mistral - Piatti

I've been to Le Mistral many times over the years but last night's dinner wasn't as good as it has been in the past. French onion soup was uninspiring, Chicken Cordon Bleu was dry and my wife's lamb was tough (and expensive)

The food and service at this restaurant are incredible, set in a cozy atmosphere. The quality of the food is top-notch, but the prices are comparable to what you'd find at a pub. If I lived closer, I would definitely dine here every day.

We are working for the summer at the nearby heritage railway. It was our 25 wedding anniversary and only had time for a short break to France this year. Le Mistral served great French style food we were missing and the service was excellent. We will be back again.

Service excellent, friendly and cheerful. Sunday roasts very mediocre … and rather pricey. Overcooking chicken breasts made them tough. Red cabbage very tasty. None of the three diners ate more that one roast potato. Swimming in gravy. The black carbonised lump on my plate turned out to be a Yorkshire pudding … or at least it had been once I think.

Went with friends, have been many times before, good food, at a reasonable price, good service BUT how it has changed very very long wait for food, when it came bland boring, my wifes tuna completely overcooked, poor service, asked for bill, waitress despite not doing anything other than chatting to a customer at the bar ignored us, had to go to bar to pay, first time in years i did not leave a tip, will never return Visualizza piatti

A few weeks ago, we went to this restaurant for a quick lunch. We ordered paté and a soup. Despite there only being 2 other customers, it took 45 minutes for our simple order to arrive. The paté came with a small portion of bread and the soup was mediocre at best. Both dishes were not worth the price. We were willing to give the restaurant another chance, but unfortunately, our experience did not improve. This level of service is unacceptable. What a disappointment.

Fabulous Food! Lovely warm welcome, staff friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We had pate, French onion soup, lamb rump truly exceptional, melted in the mouth) beef bourginon hubby said was ‘ **** gorgeous’ followed by the cheesecake and the caramelised apple tart. Everything piping hot, cooked perfectly. Rounded of by coffees. They were very busy, but the service never slacked, nor did the smiles. It was our 1st visit, but won’t be our last. Thank you Le Mistral we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful and can’t wait to return soon.

Visited with family, nice ambience and decor, unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food was mediocre at best, I had mussels for my main meal and counted around 5 which were closed and inedible. My mother had a mushroom pasta dish and the mushroom was like rubber. I also noted that people on the table next to us ordered mussels as a starter and I was pretty unhappy to see it was served in the same portion size as the main but half the price as a starter. I'm fairly sure if you served this in France you would be flogged! Avoid! Visualizza piatti
