"Having not eaten here for a couple of years we paid a visit last night with high hopes. Sadly the customer service was somewhat lacking and although the sharing starter was lovely the mains were nothing special, I ended up leaving over half my meal. The waitress was attentive and helpful however, the bar manager ? not so. We asked three times if we could have the fire lit as we were a little cold, finally he came to assist, but was very obviously not happy about it. He then proceeded to butt into our conversation and give his unwanted opinion, correcting me on something I said, apparently the customer is not always right even if they are not talking about anything remotely related to the food or even the establishment! When it came to desserts we were told in a rather belligerent manner that the kitchen had now closed he would have to do them himself. Did we need to know that? We obviously decided not to stay for dessert informed him of this, saying that we ‘didn’t wish to put him out’ his response was quite pugnacious and defensive. Considering how hard it is for the food industry in the current economic climate customer service and quality food should be of utmost importance for any eatery, apparently not at The Lion! We shall not be returning or recommending the place to anyone, but I doubt that the gentleman in charge last night will give a hoot about this."

Great pub used it for years as live locally with great food we always make a point on stopping for a pint and some food when passing on our boat Fully recommend and well worth a visit you’ll not be disappointed

WOW! Pretty much somes it up! Came as a group of 4. We had pork belly, chicken strips and hallumi to start and was by far some of the nicest food I've ever tasted! Then we had sausage and mash. Gammon. Fish and chips. And a chicken burger... no room for puddings portions are massive! Service was amazing too! 10/10 what a great place! Visualizza piatti

The Lion did us proud for my daughter’s wedding reception, the first large-scale wedding they’d ever done. The staff and management were exceptionally accommodating before, during and after the day: food was superb;room looked fabulous ; everything ran like clockwork. I know my daughter and son in law were overjoyed that they’d chosen the Lion and all the guests had an excellent time

I’ve reviewed the Lion twice before . Once in 2016 poor experience them again in 2017 when I reviewed what a massive change there had been for the better! . Unfortunately we didn’t get to eat that time but I promised we would be back to eat! Sorry it’s taken so long but we finally made it back and we’re not disappointed at all! Really lovely staff, great decor and superb food and service. My compliments to to management and staff -you’re doing a superb job,

Stopped here on our holiday on the broads was greeted by friendly staff who knew about his beer my partner had the pubs brewed beer which was recommended by the man behind the bar which he loved. We had a lovely meal that evening which was really generous portions. Stayed for the evening had a lovely walk before we left in the morning went on our way. We organised a party at The Lion for my parents 80th birthday. Matthew and the team were brilliant from booking the table and organising the event, right through to the service and the food. They couldn’t have been more accommodating and we were quite high maintenance! Everyone enjoyed their food. The pub is spotless, beautifully decorated and warm and inviting on a January day. Thank you again Matthew and the team at The Lion. You are fantastic. My parents had a really lovely memorable day. We would thoroughly recommend for any occasion.

Initially came to the pub to pay my mooring fee and book a table for the evening, but ended up staying 3 hours and returning for dinner! …… A perfectly situated pub for the nearby mooring at Thurne Dyke. The pub itself was tastefully decorated and had a nice feel to it. I was welcomed by Stephen the manager, whose knowledge of locally produced beers was great and I was soon tempted by a beverage (or three .
