"edible maternal day lunch my first visit at the george in the beautiful village great amwell. from the moment we went, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Drinks arrived immediately, as well as each of the 3 courses during our stay. it has a nice cozy atmosphere and eating is not only very well presented, it tastes delicious. more restaurant quality eat in a pub. it is not the cheapest place in the world, with menu prices that touch on london prices, but when they are in demand, and the people are happy to pay. then what can they expect me to return and recommend for a beautiful meal"

"I wasn't sure quite what to expect when I went along to The Millstream. The first time I went, it had been a choice between plain salad or chips. However, I had heard that they were celebrating World Vegan Day- which in itself is a positive- so decided to go and check out the vegan menu for myself. The waitress was warm and welcoming, talking to me in depth about all allergens within the vegan menu- since I'm allergic to both gluten and soy as well- and was able to assure me that the entire menu is made from scratch by the chef, to give it a home cooked feel. The manager herself came to speak with me and we ended up conversing for a long time. She told me that if I called in advance, the chef would be more than happy to prepare me something not on the menu- such as a vegan cheese burger. She took pride in the fact that everything is made from scratch, and that they now provide vegan cheese which is selling well. The meal itself exceeded all possible expectations. I had a chickpea curry with rice, and a side of vegetable dahl. It was mild- but with a small and pleasant kick-, warming and filling. The seasoning was balanced and perfect, and it was a rare occasion in which I didn't need to add salt or pepper. All in all, I'd give the meal 10/10 and would recommend anyone and everyone to go along."

"A really lovely italian and turkish restaurant. We ordered some pasta, pizza and calzone. It was a cold day yesterday so was nice to be somewhere warm with hot drinks and lovely food. The only thing i wanted to mention is that the customer service was a bit lacking. I felt like we were bothering them when asking for things and also there was a bit of a mix of what we meant by garlic pizza bread and garlic bread. I know that we didnt mention the exact name of the starter on the menu but instead of double making sure if this is what we meant, I got a lesson on when ordering to say the exact name of the starter which was a bit unnecessary and left us feeling a bit unwelcome. They did rectify it and bought us the correct starter at no cost but then preceded to tell me off about it which again was not needed. Other than that the food is good and we had a good time."

"Great fish and chips with an extensive gluten free menu. The gluten free batter was better than most chip shop's regular batter which meant I could happily share with my gluten intolerant partner. The Samphire, Mushy peas and tartare sauce were top notch also. "greatly disappointed, eaten here many times before and loved it, But yesterday wow, Staff outside smoking, that lingered into the restaurant Food was unedible ! Wine tasted off ! Service was appalling ! When we paid our bill we gave our opinions and the manager just stood there and listened but made no attempt to come over and try to rectify any of the problems. Will not be going back again !!"
