"Both my partner and I have been long term customers at Mai Hing, but night we have been left so disappointed and disgusted by the customer service that we will be finding alternative Chinese take aways from now on. We ordered the food at 7.45pm. This still hadn't arrived at 9pm, so we telephoned the take away to find out where the food was. We were told that it turned out our order had been mixed up with another, a fact that had to come to light as the people being delivered to prior to us had phoned in. They were unable to contact the driver so asked us to let the driver know that they had made a mistake. Obviously this was not ideal the food was already late and we would now have to wait for the driver to arrive, go and swap the food and come back. Nevertheless, we waited a further half an hour with no food. We then rang back to ask what was happening, to be told they had indeed managed to contact the driver, the food had been swapped and it was on it was way. My partner then questioned the state our food would be in as it was almost 2 hours since we ordered, and he was concerned the Dim Sum would have become soggy in the bag to be told it's kept warm in the thermal bags and would be fine. No apology was offered at this point. We then asked if we would still have to pay full price for our meal, bearing in mind it was 2 hours late and we had to chase them repeatedly to find out where our food was; we were simply told yes, we still expect you to pay full price. Unfortunately, by the time the food arrived a further 20 minutes later we were so appalled and disappointed by the service that we turned the food away. I fully appreciate that sometimes mistakes happen we are all human after all and mix ups happen, but to have to chase up constantly and be told that we would still be expected to pay full price on food that was over 2 hours late is unacceptable. We are both so disappointed and would not recommend this take away to anyone."

By far the best Chinese in Chesterfield. Decent portions. Fast delivery. Best taste. Never an issue! When they’re not open, I don’t bother ordering a Chinese elsewhere.

We regularly have take away from this Chinese. It's always hot and delicious. They have a very large menu and have unusual items on there. You can have a noodle box which is great and they do meal deals that include a meat, rice/chips and a sauce for around £7 which is great value. Visualizza piatti

Used this place for the first time on the reccommendation of my son. The portions and quality of the food was very good, with large chunks of meat, unlike the veg fill of most local rivals. I didn't try a rice dish as apparently it's a bit al dente and not to my taste bu the overall flavours were amazing and I will definitely be back.

Ordered by phone and was given the price of my order so i knew how much to take, was told it would be10-15 mins to collect. The order was ready for me when i went in and staff were pleasant. The food was piping hot when i got home (about 7 mins drive). It was all delicious and fresh, the free prawn crackers went down a treat too. Will be going back here soon.

Ordered a delivery this evening, asked for price including delivery on the phone. Delivery arrived promptly. Driver argued that the price was more than the lady said on the phone. Paid the extra. Opened the bag and the chips were raw in the centre and soggy, the bag was already open so not sure what's been occurring. The prawn crackers were soft and clearly an old batch. ordered for the first time tonight and am so disappointed, needed to comment asap. The portion size is good but the quality and taste is poor. Plum duck came with pineapple??? the curry was lack lustre, no flavour or heat, the duck was overcooked, mini veg spring rolls again tasteless. We will NEVER order again feel like we had last nights leftovers will NEVER order again oh and they charged 2.50 to deliver 0.4 of a mile we spent £28

We have been regular customers of the Mai Hing for some time, and have always been pleased with the meal quality...this week however when the food arrived, the order was wrong and included prawns in the pork noodle box which I am allergic to...I wasn't aware the prawns were in there as they were embedded in the noodles, and inadvertently ate one, resulting in me being violently ill later. The box also included some strange coloured meat that clearly wasn't pork...
