I have to agree with the other reviews. The food tasted much better than in previous months. It's not my cup of tea, so I will be switching to a different local Chinese restaurant from now on.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Mei Lai. Normally we are satisfied with our meals there, but this time the food was lacking in flavor and overly salty. There is definitely room for improvement.

I had a decent meal at this restaurant, but it was extremely salty and unappetizing. I have been a customer here for years, but I have never been so disappointed. I am considering reaching out to the management to express my concerns and request a refund.

Inedible and expensive. The food was sticky gooey mess... For instance the sweet and sour chicken was soggy, doughy balls. The food was all lukewarm and as it was prepared within minutes of ordering alarm bells were ringing that nothing was freshly prepared.

We’ve had takeaways from Mei Lai at least once a month for 3 years. Always ordered via the website and now the app. Deliver ed in good time or ready to collect very quickly. Always got what we ordered which has always been piping hot and tasty. Food: 5 Service: 5

I was disappointed with my recent dining experience at this restaurant. I usually like their special fried rice, which is normally packed with meat, some sauce, and layers of chicken and duck on top. However, on my last visit, the rice only had chicken and prawns, and what looked like gravy on top. The meat was really dry. Dinner cost between £10-£20 per person. I would give the food a 1 out of 5 and the service a 4 out of 5.

they always use these Chinese because it was fantastic in the past. came to dawlish in november had a chinese from here thought mmmmm of the Singapore rice was clumpy when normally it was stunning. the same thing with the egg frying that my husband had. I thought we would try again, our visit to januar thought it was a farewell, but no. shredded bark was disgusting (not sure it was bark meat) brewed toast. what a prunk? was just roasted brot. again singapur fried rice had no spicy very lumpy. how can they order their food, it is ready to cook in definitiw not fresh, also is it the same cook? because something definitiw has changed. was really out of what was a fantastic chinese.

After a long day’s work decided to order Chinese in this local take-away. Never again!! Ordered via phone, told would be min and we left house to collect a min drive. The food was bagged up waiting when we arrived. Obviously all...pre-prepared not cooked fresh. Got home to find everything was lukewarm going cold. The food was ruined by the addition of sugar in the brown sauce covering the chicken chow mein and the special fried rice was clumped and starchy again tasting sweet. Curry sauce was sugary and a weird colour. The pancake rolls were undercooked and tasted vile! I called to say the food was cold and not up to standard. I was told that if I wanted a refund I would need to bring back b...
